Brunswick, Georgia (CNN) -- The fatal shooting of a 13-month-old boy in his stroller marked the second time mother Sherry West lost a son to violence, she said Saturday.
Her 18-year-old son was stabbed to death in 2008 in New Jersey, she told CNN.
"This is the second child that people have taken from me in a tragic way," West said. "I'm so afraid to have any more babies now. I tried to raise really good kids in a wicked world."

In some ways I feel like I lost a son here too- because you and I were supporting him.

What is amazing to me is that even FoxNews cable is getting all lathered up on the murder of the Colorado prison official by a white supremicist (who died from his wounds after a car crash and shooting by cops) and is saying nothing about the murder of a white baby by two feral black teens in Georgia.
Married mothers also take their kids out in strollers without the company of their husbands. She was in the wrong place at the wrong time and the poor child lost his life because of that.
Seen similar ... (sigh). I’ll trust the police, on this case, till shown to be wrong.
Be careful what you wish for ... if that happens TSHTF we will all be in a world of suffering, hurt, and way too much death.

I was one of the skeptics who said cutting off benefits to new borns wouldn’t matter. It seems when jurisdictions stopped giving instant benefits to new borns, the ‘illegal’ birth rate went down, or at least slowed down for a bit.
Run unemployment benefits to the breaking point (for the working public) THEN replace it with SSI benefits to 25 year olds for being ‘stressed’ because they have to get up and go to work everyday or are ‘unable to work’ because of an addiction to drugs and/or alcohol?
Why would someone with 100 pounds of coke/pot/meth etc run a red light, drive a stolen car without a license and speed past a cop sitting on the side of the road?
One story had the ‘guy’ shooting her in the leg, the ‘interview’ I saw had her saying the guy shot her in the ear, grazing it then he shot the baby in the stroller in the face.
Something just doesn’t sound logical here... AND I am giving her the ‘benefit of a doubt’ of a very non reliable media.

Shooting a baby in a stroller. Doesn’t get much more depraved than that, unless you are an abortion doctor, politician, or judge. Poor teenagers. If they wanted to kill babies, they should haves finnished school first, became doctors. Then they could legally do it all day long and make big bucks too.
You have to get north of Community road, past where MLK blvd turns into Altama before you’d feel safe walking to your car at night. The best lunch joints are well south of that however!
There are numerous small Christian private schools just ‘off island’ so to speak.
Its really sad that Glynn Academy has deteriorated. It was/is a beautiful campus with big oaks etc old architecture.

The mayors have worked hard to rejuvinate Brunswick eeconomically and it was catching until the recent downturn.
There is however a government-perpetuated culture of poverty and violence in south central Brunswick.
A decade ago when we went first went there on a construction mission, the members of our host church were scared to bring our lunches to us in ‘Samaria’. Sad.
Its a beautiful (potentially) coastal town in need of economic and moral/spiritual revival.
It’s kind of a weird story, isn’t it? And she seems a little odd too, somehow. More willing to talk about it than I would imagine most mothers would be in this situation. I don’t remember many Newtown moms coming forward to hold forth to the press in this way.
Some of the worst criminals don’t kill babies. I’m sure they will try for sympathy due to bad childhoods and pass a law that will include tax dollars for equal upbringing.
Not the mom’s fault.for being anywhere with her baby. The fault.lies.solely with the depraved perps.
That part of Brunswick IS ok. Two streets east and north are a problem. Those two went hunting for easy targets. Evil incarnate.
Inferentially she lives on disability from a prior car accident. The father of her child lives nearby, not with her. There is a set of sales in here that are not admirable. We can debate that some.other time.
I don’t know what you have been reading but the articles that I have say the shooter fired 4 shots.
One grazed her ear and another hit her in the leg. The broadcast showed her leg with the bullet hole in it.
She didn’t leave the scene after the shooting and was seen immediately giving CPR to her baby where she was when the police arrived.
No gun was found at the scene.
The thug that was arrested had a Facebook page dedicated to the Bloods and he was giving gang symbols with his hands ala Trayvon Martin.
What is it about the mentality nowadays that would rather believe that a mother would take her baby into the middle of a residential street and off him rather than believe that a Trayvon Martin wannabe did it???
