so sorry to hear that about your son Myrridin....my aspergers dtr was able to get on SSDI...she has never worked and it amts to about $425 month but she does get her meds free...she doesn't drive...has no life at all sadly but at least she is somewhat happy here at home...
its not what you expect when your child is born...that they will have a lesser life...but it is what God has given...
I actually have two with serious problems. My oldest son had the heart/ADD problems. The youngest has a different problem. Fortunately, he has the executive functioning element that my oldest lacked. As such, he is a very safe driver, talented musician and capable writer of software. He is also an 8th grade dropout. Frustrating. By comparison, #2 son is a lot like me. Finished high school with a 4.33 GPA. Put himself through college after serving with the USMC in Kuwait/Iraq. He makes a decent living as a real estate broker, but is pursuing a EE/CS degree on top of a BS BA. You just have no idea how your kids will turn out.
It's pot luck when you have kids. Enjoy the time you have with them.
