In other words the Republicans roll over yet again.

Boehner serves the DNC and Obama WHATEVER they want.
The GOP is as useless as a third teat on a bull.

Passed 73-26 I see, so plenty of GoP votes to help Obama along. I’d say ‘surprisingly’ but of course, it isn’t surprising at all :)

What we have now in this country politically is The Republicans have morphed into JFK type Democrat and the Democrats have morphed into communists.
There is no more Republican party. It is that simple.

Some of us just like to gripe! Did you read the end of the article? Washington Post liberals like to bury the "win" by Republicans:"...Mikulski praised senators for working in a bipartisan fashion to improve on a bill that had been passed by the House earlier this month. We didnt want brinkmanship politics. We didnt want ultimatum politics, she said.
To blunt the impact of the sequester, the House introduced new priorities for military spending in its version of the bill. The Senate bill added several other areas to the bill, including agriculture, commerce, science, justice and homeland security.
The result is to add money to certain key programs; all were offset with cuts elsewhere."Emphasis added. Anyone else remember the Republicans insisting any increase in a particular part of the budget be OFFSET somewhere else? (I recall it being about unemployment compensation...) And the Obama cult wouldn't budge? They're budging...but don't expect to hear that very loudly from the media.
Really, guys, let's quit trusting the media...they lie and hide the truth. How often? ALL THE TIME.

The Sequester cuts remain, and now are finalized - including the massive cuts to the military (the DoD takes 50% of all cuts despite being 18% of the budget). The funds added to military appropriations simply removes a huge shortfall created by the Continuing Resolution that froze military spending at last year's levels. This will only restore money to Operations and Maintenance that is now bleeding by 40 to 60% shortfall due to the Sequester cuts.
About $10 Billion will be transferred to O&M, to be fought amongst the 4 services. It won't be enough to stop the Sequester damage.
Worse, the Sequester lasts 10 years.
The military will still be crippled. Training and operations will still be gutted. The 2011 cut of $487 Billion over 10 years is still in place, and tens upon tens of thousands of soldiers, airmen, marines, and seamen will be tossed out of the ranks.
So all those who wanted massive discretionary cuts to the military, but ZERO cuts to Entitlements (the real cause of our debt and deficits) - you can celebrate now. Good luck with that.

Not gonna be much of a bill. The furloughs stay, yet the government wants to ship 80+ billion overseas. Where's the justice in that?
And something else I just found out today. Government contractors still get to work their 40 hour work week whereas the federal employees don't! Again, where's the justice in that?
