Ex-governor Sanford is the only name I’ve heard of. I did read Ted Turners son was in the race. Not in my district.

How likely is he to beat Colbert’s dumb sister?

Ted Turner’s son is one of about 8 or 9 running for the republican ticket if I recall. Not my district either. This is for the area that includes Beaufort I believe. Personally I’d like to see Sanford as the Republican against the lefty Colbert. I am a South Carolinian who likes Mark Sanford.

Sanford seems to be a pretty passable conservative despite the “adventure” of a few years ago.

Charleston, SC -
Former South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford has advanced to a runoff in the Republican contest for an open congressional seat along the state’s south coast.
Meanwhile, the sister of comedian Stephen Colbert has won the Democratic primary for the seat. Elizabeth Colbert Bush on Tuesday handily defeated perennial candidate Ben Frasier and will face the winner of the crowded GOP primary in the May 7 general election.

How can anyone be a passable conservative with his total lack of morals?

Perfect!?!?!?! You think we’re asking for “perfect”? Geez, just for somebody who lives up to their word once in awhile would be sufficient.

This isn't about being perfect.
It's about actually being a conservative.
Part of being a conservative is living according to conservative principles.
You don't cheat on your wife whom you've promised to be true to till death do you part, and never repent of that, and call yourself a conservative.
A selfish, opportunistic, immoral politician yes, however, not a conservative.
