Today, 13 years later, almost everyone of those compromised areas are totally closed to multiple use and in fact many turned into nature preserve type areas.
Now there's a real life lesson on the micro scale of what happens when we conservatives compromise our values in national politics. Too bad more people haven't experienced first hand what you did, in your battles with the enviro-wackos. Perhaps then they'd 'get it'.
I have to laugh when some of the abject idiots I have argued with tell me I’m full of it. I LIVED the result. Wasted several years of my life fighting our own people (Gee, what a coincidence).
And if anyone thinks that and politics are two different issues, I would remind the unthinking fool that it was a PURELY political issue. Was. Is.
Same result.
Side note. Not so micro. The closures took millions of acres collectively out of the public domain with an economic impact in the low 9 figures....so far...and counting.
