I use a cane and occasionally a wheelchair. It all depends on how far I need to travel and how my heart and lungs are doing on a given day.
On the day that Obama was elected, the first time, I was on the Island of Kawaii and headed home to the mainland.
Security took my cane and placed it on the conveyor, it was on my lap. I was then pushed into a search area and made to stand while they took their time to search the chair... an airport wheelchair. He then frisked me, several times. He kept telling me that I could step behind a curtain to be search, I declined each time. Finally I was pi$$ and loudly told him to get on with his search, do it now, do it in public with witnesses and IF I COULD WALK TO THE CURTAIN, I DAMN SURE WOULDN’T NEED A WHEELCHAIR OR CANE. I wanted to make a very big scene, but I was concerned with being separated from my family and forced to take a boat or get a lawyer just to get home..... that would have cost thousands.
He was a skinny black man in his 40’s and I suspect he was feeling his new power now that his idol had won the race.

That’s what the TSA is all about. None of its practices and procedures make us safe. It’s all about power.
