Could explain why murdered ambassador was in attacked facility
TEL AVIV – Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., may have dropped a bombshell in an interview with Fox News in which he stated that murdered U.S Ambassador Christopher Stevens was in Benghazi to keep weapons caches from falling into the hands of terrorists.
Until now, no official explanation for Stevens deployment to Libya has acknowledged any such activity.
Stevens reportedly died from smoke inhalation as a result of the Sept. 11, 2012, attacks on the U.S. special mission and CIA annex in Benghazi, Libya.
The official State Department probe into the Benghazi attacks stated Stevens was sent to Benghazi to “establish a U.S. presence in Libya.”
“The State Department had been absent from Libya since the Embassy in Tripoli suspended operations and evacuated its American personnel on February 25, 2011, amidst an escalating campaign by Muammar Qaddafi to suppress violently a popular uprising against his rule,” continued the report.
The report stated Stevens made the decision to travel to the Benghazi mission on Sept. 11 on his own, “independently of Washington, per standard practice.”
The report did not state the specific purpose of Stevens’ visit to the mission other than to later mention he held a meeting there with a Turkish diplomat.
Neither the State Department probe nor any other official government explanation previously mentioned securing weapons caches as part of Stevens’ mission in Libya.
However, in an interview Friday with Fox News, host Bret Baier asked Graham why Stevens was in the Benghazi mission despite the many known security threats to the facility.
Graham replied, “Because that’s where the action was regarding the rising Islamic extremists who were trying to get their hands on weapons that are flowing freely in Libya.”

Graham stated during the interview that there were several foreign service employees (State Dept) that were among the group of approx. 33 people that were evacuated from the site. Which leaves the question: What do you need 30+ CIA operatives for at this site? Did this place also act as a prison and interrogation (torture?) facility?
General Keene commented on FOX that Benghazi was not a Consulate (because that would designate it as USA soil - and it was not USA soil). He also commented that we had lost a very effective CIA station.
Funny, I never heard anybody else say anything about the CIA station. And .. a lot of the media still continue to call it a “Consulate”.
My sources said it was also rumored that Russia was behind the attack because Russia was upset that although Obama had told Putin that we were not supplying arms to the Syrian rebels, the A-Q spies in Benghazi were hired by Russia to take out Stevens and destroy the location.
Now, I said the “Russia story” was a rumor .. but it sure sounds really logical to me .. because once Russia found out it wasn’t a true “consolate” or USA soil, it gave them a green light to take us out.
To me .. this rumor alone was enough of a reason for the admin to want to cover up the attack. Did somebody from Russia call Obama and tell him they had put us out of the gun business ..?? Obama has this habit of hiding when he is confronted with his antics .. and this action of hiding was obvious on 9/11/12 .. Obama was absent when the attack happened. And .. certainly Russia knew Obama was facing re-election .. and Obama would not want to make waves.
Also, nobody ever mentions why Obama never signed the CBA, so our troops from Italy could enter Libya.
Well .. as for the Hillary emails .. she is so deceiptful, I wouldn’t put it past her to allow these emails to surface as a way to further cover-up the real info. And that indicates she may have been told by Obama not to interfere in Libya. Thus, she claimed she didn’t know about the requests for security.

I agree with your observations. Our facility in Benghazi was a consulate in name only. Most of the activity going on there was under the aegis of the CIA, which poses another question. Why was Stevens there, personally supervising a covert, gun-running op? That’s why you have a CIA station chief at virtually every embassy, and operators on the ground. His meeting with that Turkish diplomat could have easily been conducted somewhere else; why huddle in Benghazi, in an iffy security environment, unless Stevens wanted to show his Turkish counterpart what the U.S. had collected.
Finally, here’s one more observation. The new information came from e-mails hacked from Sidney Blumenthal’s AOL account. One of the reports was labeled “confidential.” That makes it a classified document. So, the Secretary of State (or one of her aides) sent Blumenthal classified material to his unclassified e-mail account. That’s a security violation, since there are no indications the report had been declassified. And, since Mr. Blumenthal left government over a decade ago, I doubt he has an active security clearance.
Here’s a partial list of the rules broken during this exchange. Unauthorized disclosure of classified information to someone without a security clearance/valid need to know; deliberate downloading of classified material from a government computer network (probably SIPRNET), and unauthorized transmission of the same information over the internet.
Predictably, no one is saying a word about this blatant disregard of security regulations—the kind of offenses that would cause mere mortals to lose their clearance, or possibly go to jail.
But then again, we’re talking about Hillary and her good friend Sid. Nothing to see here, move along.

Glenn Beck said he was there to sell weapons to mideast terrorists groups including AQQ. We are in a war on terrorism and this admin is involved with aiding and abetting terrorist. Our own government is guilty of treason against the people and the military it is sending to fight a phoney war. It is phoney because Obama made it that way.

I would call it a COVERUP...Remember the Debate with Romney where The Moderator Candy Crowley and Obama were on the same page...about the Benghazi Attack.
