The Republican National Committees Growth and Opportunity Projecta self-assessment of the GOPs 2012 performance, released Mondaydiagnoses the party with a dire messaging problem, among other potentially life-threatening woes. But the surprising news from the report? It supports comprehensive immigration reform.
The study says that the GOP must embrace and champion reform, or fall victim to shrinking constituencies. We also believe that comprehensive immigration reform is consistent with Republican economic policies that promote job growth and opportunity for all, the report says.
The GOP is famously divided over the immigration issue. Some prominent Republicans have voiced their support, like Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., and Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla.both of whom represent states with significant Hispanic and Latino populations. (In Arizona, 30% of people identify as Hispanic or Latino, as do 23% in Florida, versus 16.7% of the national population). Others, like Jeb Bush, have bobbled, while Mitt Romneys staunch conservative stance on immigration reform cost him Latino votes in 2012.

On the issue of immigration reform, the GOP is damned if they do, and they are damned if they don’t. Immigration reform is a no-win issue for Republicans, I’m afraid.
The GOP is shrinking their own constituency by these stupid acts.
The illegals given Amnesty willnot vote GOP, they will be Democrats.
Obama is trying to destroy America and the GOP is helping him do it by destroying themselves.
It’s very simple what the GOP is doing, throwing Conservatives out to the curb. They want to be Democrats full of gays and illegals sucking off the taxpayers.
Now, if we can just get some politicians with B@lls to sponsor AND pass your ideas in a bill.
I noticed the GOP did not begin to claw their way towards the “tea party” during the shellacking of the liberal socialist in 2010! In fact, the GOP elitist made every effort to pull away from the “tea party” and push more moderate RINO programs and candidates, but, after getting defeated in 2012, suddenly, the GOP elitist call for even more moderation of their positions, e.g. homosexual sodomy, and marriage, open borders, amnesty for the new liberal socialist electors, more spending, (no debt problem) and more comprehensive reach across the isle and smooch a liberal socialist on the mouth as an indication the “hard core” image of the GOP is moderating their positions!
I can't think of a better way for the GOP to become irrelevant as a political party than to keep dissing the tea party Americans, keep moderating on conservative issues, and of course, reach across the isle and vote with the liberal socialist on issues that is destroying this Country!
Good bye GOP, you made your bed, now live with it! Idiots!
Rand Paul’s riding the “amnesty wave” too - he’ll come out in favor of it tomorrow.
There’s another # million on the way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Embrace them! Steal from your family to feed em
house em medicate them and imprison them!
My God when will be enough is enough!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?
Embrace and champion amnesty? Never.
It’s not a losing issue for them if they would tell Americans what the true cost is when it comes to illegals and repeat often but I don’t think the GOP really opposes illegal aliens.
Yep. Here in CA legal hispanics are twice as likely to be on government assistiance than non-Hispanics. The fact that the GOP-E thinks they can improve thier chances of appealing to yutes and minorities by caving on illegals is just another example of being out of touch and stupid they are. Especially since getting another 20% of the hispanic vote is about the same as getting 3% of the white vote.
TIME TO REMOVE PRIEBUS.
True that.
And so I must EMBRACE the CONSTITUTION PARTY.
THE only Party that does not embrace AMNESTY!
“Even if the GOP passed amnesty for the 13 million here, they will still not get the Hispanic vote because they can’t promise more freebies than the Democrats.”
Evidently your thinking is flawed....I posted similar articles this morning and what I got was a bunch of insults.
The GOP and FR has been infiltrated. I feel like I need a shower! Going to take another break since FR is NOT going to enforce their ‘no personal insult’ policy.

So, they looked at the numbers, and the reason why Ronald Reagan was elected a third time was amnesty... Err, why George Bush wasn’t reelected was amnesty.. Err, umm, why Bill Clinton was elected was amnesty...
Oh, fudge, it’s like this global warming thing, you did into the data and it just doesn’t make any sense...
I know I’m preaching to the choir here, but are these morons on the payroll of coyotes or something? This plan continually refreshes the welfare state which makes it MUCH more difficult for a conservative to get elected...
Ah, there, I guess that’s really the point here. To make it impossible for a conservative to get elected.
Left behind by yet another party..
George Bush got 44% of the Hispanic vote because he told them in Spanish that he has free medicine for them.
WHat happened to SPONSORS like immigrants USE to have to have to enter the country and work!!
We were talking to neighbors from the UK that came here late 60's or early 70's, and they HAD to have a JOB WITH A SPONSOR, X-RAYS, Medical check-up and the UK ONLY allowed them to bring in $500.00, and this Visa was ONLY for 2 YEARS!!! Then you had to PROVA AGIN that you had a JOB that could SUPPORT you and your family!!!
It was a good run while it lasted but now is time to start a new run under a different brand.
