RNC: Voters see GOP as scary and out of touch' By: Maggie Haberman March 18, 2013 07:00 AM EDT
The Republican National Committee concedes in a sprawling report Monday that the GOP is seen as the party of stuffy old men and needs to change its ways.
Among the RNCs proposed fixes: enacting comprehensive immigration reform, addressing middle-class economic anxieties head on and condensing a presidential primary process that saw Mitt Romney get battered for months ahead of the general election.
The committee also proposes major improvements to the partys voter database and digital technology, which paled next to that of the Democrats and contributed to the partys losses last year.
The suggestions are among dozens the committee makes in what RNC Chairman Reince Priebus has dubbed an autopsy of the partys 2012 failures and a roadmap forward. Priebus unveiled the 98-page report at a news conference Monday morning at The National Press Club.
Theres no one reason we lost, Priebus said. Our message was weak; our ground game was insufficient; we werent inclusive; we were behind in both data and digital; our primary and debate process needed improvement. So, theres no one solution: Theres a long list of them.
The report devotes many pages to the need to better connect with minority, female and young voters. Comprehensive immigration reform is a critical first step, it says.

So, I take it you're in agreement with the GOP-e, that we must now embrace abortion, gay 'marriage', amnesty, and big government Socialism to win elections?
I hope that's not your thinking. If it is, or if you've succumbed to the idea that the leftward slide of the Republican party is inevitable, then you've essentially given up on the Founding Principles of our country.
Perhaps you're like me, and believe that a showdown of sorts is approaching, and that this thing will be decided outside the bounds of our established civil mechanisms.
But to address your contention above, I disagree. I believe that the majority of people in this country are hungering for adult, sensible leadership, and would support a dedicated, courageous conservative in numbers strong enough to steam roller the Democrats.
Resgan was a conservative who supported limited government, individual liberty, capitalism, and lower taxes. His actions helped spur a 20 year recovery from the Carter years.
The real problem for the GOP is that we are no longer the same people (electorate) that we were in 1970 or 1980. Immigrants account for one in 8 U.S. residents, the highest level in more than 90 years. In 1970 it was one in 21; in 1980 it was one in 16; and in 1990 it was one in 13. In a decade, it will be one in 7, the highest it has been in our history.
Multiculturalism, liberal control of the education system, and government programs that reinforce racial, ethnic, and gender identities, e.g., affirmative action, minority business set asides, etc., have affected assimilation into America and respect for the vision and ideas of our Founders and the importance of the Constitution. We are being colonized by the Third World.
Reagan would never be elected Governor in CA today. It has nothing to do with his political philosophy or his ideas. He would have an R after his name, which would make him unelectable. Reagan didn't change but the electorate of CA has. The consequences of that demographic change are permanent and long lasting. It will be many generations before any Rep candidate for President is ever victorious in CA.
And that same process that transformed CA is happening now in CO, NM, AZ, VA, FL, NC, and NV.
The free republic that we loved is dead, i am sorry to say that but they killed it. 5-20 years ago while our leaders were either complacent(like John McCain) or asleep like most of the rest.
We cannot hope to salvage everything
Okay. Let's run one and find out.
Are you with us?
If that is so than the party is indeed effectively dead, at least until we can break the race barrier and free the democrat’s slaves.

If you feel that is not possible and don’t wish to help find a way, we really don’t have any choice but to roll over and die.
Whatever happened to the immigrant that came here in search of freedom & importunity?
Are not legal immigrants offended by the illegal immigrants cutting lines just to take advantage of the fruits of liberty without bearing any of the burden?

...THEN...
...creatively using a controlled media/education system to successfully put the blame of this(deliberately created)misery squarely on your opponents, thereby destroying THEIR credibility...and(if successful)their utter existence.
(Saul would have been proud...)
Rather successful societal transformation on their part, don't you think?
Message to the victorious progressives...
"For over a thousand years Roman conquerors returning from the wars enjoyed the honor of triumph, a tumultuous parade. The conqueror rode in a triumphal chariot, the dazed prisoners walking in chains before him. And a slave stood behind the conqueror holding a golden crown and whispering in his ear a warning that...
...all glory is fleeting."
Milton Friedman said that, You cannot simultaneously have free immigration and a welfare state. We have both.
Are not legal immigrants offended by the illegal immigrants cutting lines just to take advantage of the fruits of liberty without bearing any of the burden?
Not really. Many of the illegal aliens are related or know the legal immigrants. And the legal immigrants still vote two to one for the Dems.
It's amazing the GOP continues to control the House and 30 out of 50 state governments.
I don't understand it...?
This freaking moron Reince Priebus needs to get his walking papers, like, yesterday.
Meanwhile, my checkbook remains slammed shut.
???
Lemme guess... you’re a turd poker?
Or just a coward?
Yes demography is destiny but those voters didn’t vote for BO because they are social libs.
They voted for him beacause of the ‘safety net’ that gov’t has been providing. They don’t want it to stop. Surveys revealed this shortly after the election. Social issues and amnesty are not at the top of the list, but free stuff is.
When you bring in hundreds of thousands of high school dropouts, what do you expect. There is a direct correlation between educational levels and the use of welfare.
Willard was a ringer. When are you fellas gonna wake up to that ? We were warning you for years.
So democrats have been importing their voter base. I guess that makes sense in the grand scheme of things sense their native counterparts have been aborting their own.
Our success at the state level is our most crical asset, and our best hope for reshaping the political landscape.

So your saying our only hope is to get canadits that at least claim to give more free stuff than the Democrats. Or to wait for the Federal be curacy to crash to such a point where it is no longer able to pay for the democrat’s votes.
In either case you should take a look at your wallet and start thinking about ways to hide or otherwise secure your assets long term.
Precisely.
