allow a mechanism to become a U.S. citizen - BUT make the process last 10 to 15 years.

Meanwhile, they can't vote. If they do...permanent deportation.

“We pray that politicians favor freedom and liberty for all people.”...So bland and meaningless...

Well, it certainly doesn't sound like they're talking about the RATs.

LaTourette left Congress last year and is now out of power. The very fact he might show up on a Sunday talk show now reveals his true blow in the wind leanings. He always postured as a centrist, and really never did have any particular principles other than getting along.

The only fly in your ointment is to believe that the dems are non-narcissistic and will never step on their own members which they will.(and if you thought that had a double meaning you were right!) They always go too far and self-destruct. To believe that won’t happen is to ignore history.

Lessons from history only go so far. However, the Dems were able to control Congress for almost 60 years (with a few exceptions) after the election of FDR. We may be headed into another such era. When the Evil Party battles against the Stupid Party, the Evil Party usually wins.

The only real danger I see for the Dems is that they will fight among themselves since they are a party comprised of factions and special interests. It happened with the Dixiecrats. We could see something similar with blacks, Hispanics, whites, environmentalists, gays, etc. battling for power and influence once they have made themselves the permanent majority party.

And as much as history matters, you cannot ignore the massive demographic changes in this country. We no longer have the same electorate or same country.

We can start with a moratorium on immigration. Our educational system needs to go back to basics, including teaching our children about our founding, the Constitution, and the elimination of multiculturalism. Diversity is not a strength, but rather a threat to our national unity and identity. We need some time to assimilate the 40 million or more foreign born in this country. We essentially had such a period from 1925 to 1965.

Number 1. I assume the GOP Establishment will be in charge until the party collapses.

My family are the successful products of the ‘65 Immigration act. This act allowed people who escaped from Communist countries to go to the from of the line when applying for U.S visas / GreenCards. This act allowed for 65,000 or so immigrants a year.

We have always welcomed refugees and asylum seekers into this country. That was not the purpose or substance of the 1965 Immigration Act. Yes, it removed quotas for political refugees but more importantly, it removed quotas from immediate family members, which caused the immigration numbers to skyrocket. And no longer did we skew our immigration to favor Europeans. We changed the composition of our immigrants, most of them now coming from the Third World.

The 1965 Immigration Act: Anatomy of a Disaster

Yes, allow a mechanism to become a U.S. citizen - BUT make the process last 10 to 15 years. After this time frame these people - mostly hardworking - but not all, have effectively become Americans.

It really doesn't matter if they become citizens or not when calculating the impact they have on our society and culture. A green card holder can do everything a citizen can do except vote and receive certain kinds of security clearances. The receive welfare and entitlement benefits. Their children born on US soil are automatically US citizens.

John Boehner, Eric Cantor, McCarthy and a number of others. Take a look at some of the House bills/resolutions that garner an overwhelming number of Dem votes with some Reps and pass. I can do the research but not now. The CR vote could well smoke out this new coaltion. I believe the renewal of the Violence Against Women act was passed this way in the House.

I just got to watch FNC Sunday show. All the “elite” Republicans on the panel were in lock step with the leadership of the current GOP thinking. I truly was amazed. They are truly the stupid party......or prefer the status quo. Rove was besides himself.

He made a snarky comment about Palin, to the effect that if he held a public office that he would serve his term.

I just read the monthly newspaper of our diocese and it would seem that Pope Francis is indeed of the same order of my own priests of my parish.

Seems the Jesuits were started by Ignatius Loyola in mid 1600 about.

I felt like my own priest was quite proud of the Jesuit connection but I guess a little pride in order.

Goodness, everything in Baltimore is named LOYOLA.

Jesuits were before Francis of course, known as an order that eschewed high rank, that practiced humility.

Thanks for posting all the transcripts every week, as well as starting the thread. A long day!

For the record, here are some of the remarks of the RNC Chair:

SCHIEFFER: Let me ask you this. I understand that you’re also planning some very significant schedule changes for example, the scheduling of your convention. You want it earlier now, as I understand?

PRIEBUS: Absolutely. I mean, these candidates are not taking public financing any more, and I don’t want to bore our listeners on campaign finance but here’s what I’ll tell you, one of the reasons why Mitt Romney was a sitting duck for two months over the summer was that under the campaign finance laws, he couldn’t use money he had already raised until after he received nomination for president in August. I believe that our primary process is way too long. I think our calendar needs to be looked at. I think our debate calendar needs to be shrunk. I think we had way too many debates with our candidates slicing and dicing each other. And I think they had to wait too long to get to the convention. I’m calling for a convention in June or July. We’re going to set up a commission that’s going to make that decision. I’m going to be a part of that. I’m going to chair that commission, but no more August conventions.

SCHIEFFER: And as I understand it, then, fewer debates the year before the presidential year. You’ll start them — when would you like to start them? They started what, in February?

PRIEBUS: If it was up to me I wouldn’t start a debate until September if it was up to me.

It was Richard Cardinal Cushing who allowed the perverts to proliferate at St John’s Seminary in Brighton, MA...you will never guess whose bff for life the cardinal was?
One Joseph P.kennedy.
All of those perverts went on to infect jesuit schools...
and there ya go.

I’d forgotten about Cardinal Cushing. Seems like he was there almost forever.

So someone explain to me that if Romney couldn't use public funds to campaign against Obama before the actual nomination, how was Obama able to fly around the country/world, lambasting Romney and the Republicans during all that long time? Did he pay for Air Force One, Secret Service, Michelle's lobster, etc., out of his campaign cash? Or did he use some of his "stash" that the DEEtroit voters like so much?

However, given that the democrat media will never report the truth on a democrat the way they will ~evvvviiill~ Republicans, I'd agree with Priebus to have the convention much earlier.
