Do you have any links to his speeches or writings that would indicate that he is against liberation theology?

I’ll have to look. I’ve seen several in the threads about him, especially on Thursday. He is very much pro-life and against homosexual marriage, which was being pushed in Argentina, and against which he came out VERY forcefully; so much so that the President of Argentina called him out on it. Didn’t bother the Cardinal, one bit, he kept on talking.;o)

This thread has some comments about the new Pope regard poverty, and how we should act against it. He doesn't seem to think Marxist ideas are the answer. The part about poverty is #5 on the list.
