It feels more and more like 1860 in America. With touches of 1917 in Russia.

This reminds me of boot camp. One person screws up and everyone else must suffer along. Why? Well the theory was that the rest of the company would “take care” of the screw-up and get him to reform his ways. The end result of course is that your military units all learn to follow their instructions and orders to the letter.

Civilians on the other hand? Most are like cats; have you ever tried to herd cats?

End result Chaos and the blatant disregard for these laws and any others that are found to be non-nonsensical at best and Arbitrary and malicious at worse.

what is the state going to do, have a police man present at ever gun sale?

That is no more possible than having a police man present at the seen of every crime.

That’s all fine and dandy but where in the state...or Weld County...is a person supposed to buy a 30 round magazine? The dealers holding FFLs won’t stock or sell them. County Sheriff Cooke’s gesture would only affect person’s who already own them.

Kind of like a staged opera. Everyone is taking a break at some point, to drink what they think is $10 a glass of fancy wine, but it’s just some watered down $2 mixer drink with a lot of sugar.

The curious point is this $10 background check. Who pays for the poor? You’d think the minorities would be the first out of the house to cry over the inhumanity of taking their precious dollars away. The comical side is that if you were buying some really cheap used gun from the gun shop for $50....you’d have to pay $10 just to complete universal background check.

Thisis the funnyiest line:

““Are we going to stop all criminals from getting guns? No,” said Democratic Rep. Beth McCann, a sponsor of the background checks bill. “But are we are going to put a barrier there, make it more difficult for them? Yes.””

Beth McCann is an idiot, criminals don’t get their guns from legal sales because legal sales can be traced to them. So no Beth your not making it 1 tiny bit harder for criminals to get guns.

Your just making it harder for law abiding citizens to get guns with-which to defend themselves from criminals.

***Earlier this week, Colorado lawmakers approved a 15-round limit on ammunition magazines.***

The hope is someone will rush a shooter when he changes magazines.

What if the shooter fires 14 rounds, drops the magazine and replaces it. If someone rushes the shooter there is still a round in the chamber that can be fired.

As for semi auto pistols, the same can be done with those without magazine disconnects, and disconnects on others can be removed.

Or they can use the old method of the Border Ruffians during the Civil War era, and that is to carry four or five pistols.

Gun control is not about SAFETY, it is about CONTROL.

There can not be “universal background checks” without registration.

I will pass on registering anything.

Cooke said the bill requiring a $10 background check to legally transfer a gun would not keep firearms out of the hands of those who use them for violence.

I wonder how the leftist extremists would react to a $10 tax on every abortion.

Buying a gun should be as easy as voting. The same people who want no ID requirements to vote and even allow convicted felons to vote also want to restrict gun sales to law abiding citizens.

Cooke said he, like other county sheriffs, “won’t bother enforcing” the laws because it will be impossible for them to keep track of how the requirements are being met by gun owners. He said he and other sheriffs are considering a lawsuit against the state to block the measures if they are signed into law.

Backlash is a comin'!

Sheriff Maketa releases statement regarding gun control stance

Historically, any citizen would be allowed to speak if they arrived at the Capitol early and signed up on testimony records. Although sign up sheets were in place and citizens including myself signed up, we were completely disregarded. Minutes after I signed up to testify, I learned a different process would be utilized and testimony was based on three categories: experts, preferred witnesses, and public witnesses. No explanation was provided to define expert or preferred witness. I was told this decision was made by the senate president and the chairperson of the hearing committee. Additionally, experts would have no time constraints and all others would be restricted to three minutes.

As I made my way out of the Capitol, I was shocked at the number of people who attended these hearings. It's estimated the number of people in attendance reached 1,000. I spoke to several and was told they just wanted their voice to be heard.

I am not sharing this because of the outcome of the hearings that day; rather I am sharing this because of the process implemented and the faces of all those citizens that were never permitted to participate in the process. Government is supposed to be by the people, for the people and on this day, they were crushed and kicked to the side. Special interest coalitions and hand picked experts with no relevant expertise trumped our citizens.
