There are 23 names on the Conservative Political Action Conference's much watched 2016 GOP presidential nomination straw poll.
And there's one glaring omission: Jeb Bush.
It appears the former two-term Florida governor is the reason his name isn't on the ballot.
"He requested not to be put on the poll this year," an official with the American Conservative Union, the group that puts on CPAC, told CNN.

No surprise to anyone who leaves the beltway from time to time.
Jeb Bush is going no where. He deserves respect because he was a good governor and he’s a good guy but he will never be elected president.
Not so glaring. Jeb isn’t much of a conservative and doesn’t deserve a spot.
who the crap it’s that? looks like romeny kissyface with pauly shore...
Anyone supporting Jeb Bush for anything should be watched..
They are progressive as Jeb and more or less progressive as the other two George’s..
Nominate Jeb for anything and the rush out of the republican door will be KAtie Bar the Door..
Not that many are not backing out the door as we speak.. they are....
Turning your back on a RINO is a distinct mistake..
They will turn on you like Dennis Rodman at a North Korean Propaganda Fest...
Matt Drudge.
Well, if that happens, I won’t just stay home, I’ll cast my first ballot for a democrat. I will vote Hillary before I vote for another Bush.
Matt Drudge.
We conservatives continue to rip each other left and right, to the delight of REAL enemies of freedom like Obama.
There is a ton of ripping going on from the GOPe types but they never get called on the rug for it. Only the conservative base is held to the No-Rip standard.
I guess I am trying to stay focused on the communist occupying the Oval Office...the intramural stuff is interesting, but not at all important when compared to the real battle.
Is Sarah Palin on the straw poll list?
I have a feeling CPAC has already picked their candidate:
How things have changed at CPAC. In 2011, the immigration forum had Tom Tancredo and Center for Imm. Studies....who are now along with every other anti illegal immigration group is being defamed with studies, talking points by the Southern Poverty Law Center, the propagandists of the left. That tactic was handpicked by CPAC and ACU (Amer.Conservative Union) leaders who support AMNESTY.
Related: This is about a month old, but wasnt posted, and everyone needs to read it. It gives insight into big amnesty boss Grover Norquist, but also Marco Rubio, who according to the article, refused to allow what he called anti immigrant groups such as Numbers USA, the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS), and the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) a voice in the discussion. Rubio & Norquist are both aligned with SPLC on this one and are using SPLC material and propaganda to silence them!
Effort to change immigration law sparks internal battle within GOP
[snip].
Conservatives who are taking on the groups, including Rubio, anti-tax activist Grover Norquist and officials of the Catholic Church, argue that the three organizations are motivated by far different philosophies than many of their Republican allies realize.
Rubios aides last week brought one of the organizers of the effort to undermine the groups, Mario H. Lopez, a party strategist on Hispanic politics, to a regular meeting of GOP Senate staffers, at which Lopez distributed literature about the groups backgrounds and connections. Rubio also raised concerns about the groups leanings during a recent conference call on immigration with conservative activists.
Rubios spokesman, Alex Conant, said the senator has argued that some groups that oppose legal immigration should not be considered part of the conservative coalition,
“We conservatives continue to rip each other left and right, to the delight of REAL enemies of freedom like Obama.”
And just what should we do when we see blatant corruption, lies, leaning to the left from our esteemed GOP’ers?
What happened to the republican party that had the nerve when Nixon turned out to be a dud to say, ‘GET OUT’!????
The ‘real’ battle....
From the FR home page: Free Republic is the premier online gathering place for independent, grass-roots conservatism on the web. We’re working to roll back decades of governmental largesse, to root out political fraud and corruption, and to champion causes which further conservatism in America.
It doesn’t say ‘unless it’s a republican’.

Sarah Palin is on the list.
You know, that's a really nice point except in light of how the RINO faction of the party does all it can at any moment to absolutely destroy an Conservative Candidate and then whimper away like a whipped puppy when confronted with a democrat standard bearer.
Most recent case in point: Romney vs Gingrich Florida Primary 2012/Romney vs. Obama 3rd debate onward October/November 2012.
