An incident involving a teenager who was shot by police after he pointed a .38 at them has enraged Brooklynites and caused three straight nights of rioting.
From NY Daily News:
At least 46 demonstrators were arrested along Church Ave. in East Flatbush. Police struggled to control a hostile crowd that broke away from a planned peaceful vigil for Kimani (Kiki) Gray, 16, killed by police on Saturday night.
Gray's sister Mahnefeh was among those arrested. A police officer suffered a gash in the face when a tossed brick hit him, NYPD spokesman Paul Browne said, and a window was smashed in an inspector's car.
"They didn't have to kill him," Makaeo Williams, 18, said as police on motorcycles tracked alongside him. "I'm feeling mad inside. I'm angry. That's why I'm out here." Many in the community contest police allegations that Gray pointed a gun at cops when he was shot during a confrontation with two plainclothes officers on E. 52nd St. Saturday night. Those suspicions on the street intensified Wednesday when an autopsy report revealed Gray was hit by seven bullets -- three to the back.
It was not clear in what order the shots struck the teen or whether he had his back to the police when they opened fire .

In his post-police career, my cousin became a lawyer, with a firm that specialized in PBA cases, defending police officers in a jam. He was "of council" to the cops that killed Amadou Diallo, and while he had the professionalism not to discuss the case, he had some difficulty hiding his contempt for his clients, when I asked him about the case. In twenty years on the force, my cousin claims that he never drew his weapon once, and I tend to believe him. I think his clients in that case appeared to him to be gunslingers.
I don't think today's NYPD are nearly as venal as they were when I was growing up. But for the most part, the corruption was petty venality, taking a free lunch or beer, or swiping a newspaper. The problem with venality is that is destroys discipline and undermines public confidence.
FWIW, I do not think the cops in this case overreacted. When you draw a weapon on a cop, you are playing Russian roulette with a loaded weapon.
And I bet he was on his way to a Rap recording session when this all happened. Another promising hip-hop career snuffed out for a brother getting his life back together.

If I wore a Yankees cap in Red Sox Nation, I would not survive the walk in from the parking lot.
Maybe the anti-self defense people could tell us if a gun control as they see fit would have saved this life?
How do you figger? He could have been spun around by the first few rounds, or belatedly decided to run when it became apparent that he had just started a gun fight one on two with only four rounds in his weapon. He who first draws his weapon must bear full responsibility for any consequences.
And where is the Mainstream Media on this!?
Only the local newsies are picking it up. This is honestly the first I’ve heard of this!
This is a carbon-copy of the incident which sparked the London Riots of 2011: police snuff a gang-banger and the city burns. I’m surprised it’s been three or four days now.
“He who first draws his weapon must bear full responsibility for any consequences.”
I agree however, he is not the problem, the un-educated crowd is and that is what they will believe.
Is there a difference?
Try pointing a weapon at police and see what it gets you dumbass.
I’ll bet all the race baiters just left Florida.
Are there any witnesses or video that show he actually had the gun?
I wouldn’t be surprised if this was a “drop”
So will the Brooklyn Nets all pose in hoodies like the Heat did for Trayvon?
Exactly. Brooklyn BOLO for anti-property, anti-life collectives roaming the neighborhood. Be prepared.
Ha!
<>I wouldnt be surprised if this was a drop<>
From the article:
“A woman who identified herself as Gray’s cousin told news outlets Wednesday that the teen was carrying a gun for a friend and was trying to alert cops that he had a weapon when he was shot.”
So the cousin admits in her lame excuse that he had a weapon —
This story says that Brooklynites are enraged at the shooting of this teenager. Other news stories said that the dead boy was a member of the Bloods street gang, and that it was his fellow gang members who were rioting.
See how liberals can whitewash stories, by omitting certain key details???
That situation didn't happen because no one in New York is allowed to have a gun. I wish you guys wouldn't put false stories on here. /s
This morning, the Feinstein Assault Weapons ban bill was passed out of committee and is now in the Senate. Included in that bill is the outlawing of large capacity magazines.
I got an email from the Ruger company four days ago that my Ruger made 25 cartridge magazine for my Ruger LR rifle is on its way. Screw Hussein Obama.
So, at his very best, he's a Darwin Award Candidate....
"Hey Cops! I got a gun! Here, lemme it pull it out and show it to y...."
I just checked UPS and my 25 magazine will be delivered TODAY!
