CNSNews.com) - Actor and environmental activist Ed Begley Jr. said President Barack Obama needs to do more to combat climate change, adding he needs to "die with his boots on in some of these things."
I think he needs to do more. I think he should die with his boots on in some of these things and just go down swinging on some of these important things, like Keystone I dont think should be approved. I think theres other ways we can get energy, Begley told the Huffington Post last week when asked whether the president has done enough to combat climate change.
Begley, who is documenting his efforts to build a home with his wife under LEED Platinum standards in a web series called "Begley Street," said he has successfully powered his home through wind and solar power.
"I know that wind power works. It's been powering many homes I've owned a wind turbine in the California desert since 1985 - still working, still sending me checks. I know that solar works. It's been powering my home and charging my car since 1990, so I know these things work - it's not pie in the sky, so we need to do more of that," Begley said.
"With nuclear power, the worst energy-related accident is what happened at Chernobyl and what happened at Fukushima," he said. "What's the worst energy-related accident with solar panels on your roof? Ow, that hit me on the head, Begley, would you bolt that down a little better. That hurt
I think you cut me a little bit."
Boots would indicate a job consistent with manual labor (in most cases), something this limp-wristed, effeminate, phony has never done in his life...
Ed should be more careful in his choice of words. Those first three were lulus!
[Would laugh if Begley got a visit from the Secret Service.]
What a great example he sets!
If only every American lived like him... we'd have 300,000,000 wind turbines in the desert.
But what does Nicki Minaj think?
Great idea, cant the EPA just ban sales of all carbon fuels? (without congress)? Bloomy would do it.
Just another Hollywood champagne socialist.
I found Ed’s statement to be too verbose. \Kzinti
Yes he is.
For him this is all just a hobby, like some do other extreme sports. So Ed powers his toaster on a bike machine. Of course Ed travels a lot and must stay at the finest establishments, so he really isn’t at home much. Just enough to “establish” his lifestyle for his webcast.
Exactly. And he powers his home with solar. Does he know how much that would cost for the average American??? There is a reason all homes don’t have solar pannels. Its because its too expensive and doesn’t provide a return on the investment without massive tax credits. Every solar project I’ve seen dries up when the tax credits go away. Unless, of course, you’re an airheaded actor who is worth tens of millions of dollars and can afford to blow $100,000 on solar that you’ll never get back.
Those wind power checks are subsidized from you guessed it, Obama. They are checks from taxpayers.
Tell Europe how well wind works Mr Ed. Take your cult somewhere else.
Pray for America
I don’t know about that.
My cousin and his wife were in town last weekend, and we all went out to dinner. She was a corporate lawyer at GM around the time the EV-1 was popular, and she was assigned to those “green” initiatives.
One of her jobs was to escort Ed around Detroit and the GM operations, since he was such a huge supporter of the EV-1. Ed took a three-day train to get to Detroit and refused to ride in an SUV or any car that didn’t get decent mileage. He only stayed at the cheap hotels.
He had to fly back home on short notice, and admitted that sometimes he just had to fly, but she could see that he really didn’t like it. Maybe he really is committed or maybe he knew that people would spot him performing an admittedly hypocritical act?
SHH! Don’t give em any ideas.
He made #98 in the list of 101 great Simpsons quotes.
Ed Begley Jr.: I prefer a vehicle that doesnt hurt Mother Earth. Its a go-cart, powered by my own sense of self-satisfaction.
climate change will kill us even before the Sequester does, we need to stop all use of carbon fuels immediately, except of course O's flights/trips to play golf(and critical departments EEOC) , those should be exempt like they were from the sequester.
Thanks for the information. I’m sure he is aware of living in a glass house. That said, I think he is probably a true believer and deeply feels his sins.
For those of you who remember EB Jr in St Elsewhere: “Ehrlich, you’re a pig”
Hey Ed, how about we build the pipeline and give your guys a few months to run Unicorm milk through it, then if that doesn't work we'll use it for oil......
You stupid Marxist douchebag.
“[Would laugh if Begley got a visit from the Secret Service.]”
I wouldn’t. Wishing the president dead, like Mr. Begley has done, is not funny, even if it is President Obama.
I sure hope the Secret Service has a talk with him - and I hope the state of California takes his guns away.
Boots on or off - I don’t really have a preference.
You can also ask Kelsey Grammer about the economics of wind power. He just admitted to losing a “six-figure” investment in wind.
