I wonder how many soldiers it would take to “control” NY, LA, Chicago, Miami, etc?

There must be nearly 100,000 small towns with less than 1000 people in the country and thousands more between 1000 people all the way up to a million.

I don't know, but the number required to truly get the job done, would be staggering. Frankly, it would take the combined might of all the military forces of the western world to do it.

The casualties, mutinies, and defections on the invaders' side would be horrendous, and in the end, all you'd have is a demolished country from coast to coast.

The American military has been tied down in Afghanistan for over a decade by a bunch of 7th century towelheads with AKs and IEDs. Can you even imagine the level of difficulty with prosecuting a shooting war against a culturally advanced, heavily armed, and educated patriot population?

Unless George Soros becomes Emperor of The World sometime soon, nothing remotely like that scenario is even possible. Conquer the American people by force? It's a leftist pipe dream, nothing more.

You figure there are what, 320 million in the U.S. if you figure illegals and people that didn’t get reached in the census? IF we could muster 1 million dedicated, motivated ground troops (not likely), that’s one military to 320 civilians.

The population of my county is 35,000 with about 15,000 households. That’s about 110 troops for the whole county with a square mileage of about 540, or about 1 military to 5 square miles. I estimate in this county there are at least 10,000 guns and who knows how much ammo.

None of this factors in the response of governors, national guards, police, vets, logistics, supply lines, or anything else, just sheer numbers. We one small, relatively rural county in Iowa, nothing special. A city of 3.2 million would take roughly 100,000 troops spread over who knows how many square miles.

I like to use Walmart as an example. They have nearly 1M employees in the U.S. How prominent are they in your daily life? Bet you could go weeks or months without passing one on the street. That puts things in perspective.
