The FR Canteen FReepmail for addition to the Ping List. |
The Food City 500 race thread is up.
If you are on this list and do not want to be, please let me know. It is not meant to be an offense, just trying to keep from missing anyone! Thank you!
Also, if the hyperlinks look fluorescent pink, sorry!
And finally, is there anyone we can lobby at Nascar.com to make them change their useless setup. I feel really bad for their website team, but this rendition is a failure. Ugh.
Seems way early for Bristol.
Must be because global warming has extended winter here.
Bump to the top.
MY Eyes!!!
If you are on this list and do not want to be, please let me know.

I’ll try again...
Please remove me from the ping list
Thanks
Got you off. Sorry about that, I think I missed going through last weeks thread pings! Thank you for your patience with that.
Bristol! Short tracks rock!
Howz’ the eternal loser, Danica, doing. And why do we have to call her DA-ni-ca instead of Da-NI-ca?
I am so bored with having to listen to her fan-club announcers boring us with her losing each week.
Even though she had post position a couple weeks ago, I understand that the other racers admit that she’s afraid of the other cars.
I have no idea why that happened. In preparing the table and if you reply to it, the links look normal. AAAH!
I love short tracks too, better action, pit strategy, race strategy. Keeps the attention through the whole race better.
First of all, I admit I am not a big NASCAR fan. But I have a question that has never been answered to my satisfaction by friends of mine who are fans. Maybe the knowledgeable fans here at FR can answer it.
The World Series is held at the end of the baseball season, the Super Bowl is held at the end of the football season, likewise the Stanley Cup, and the NBA finals are held at the end of their respective seasons. Why does NASCAR hold their premier event, the Daytona 500, at the beginning of the NASCAR racing season instead of at the end of the season in Nov.?
/crazy old fart off
The Daytona race does not confer any official special status on the winner or count for any more points than other races. It’s just a PR celebration.
Rainout is a real possibility.
Tourism
I lived there 1993 - 2000 It’s all about bringing the snowbirds down to Fla.
Daylight Slaving Time don’t cha know...
Because Nascar owns the track and being that far south the odds of better weather are above average. Before the track was built they raced on the beach there but that would have been in your great great grand dads era...
Thanks for the ping
Always enjoy watching the races that happen in Bristol.
