I’m guessing - by the headline only - that the marine whips out his permit and the perp runs away.

(General observation, not specificlly related to the story) It is the epitome of irony that the left wants to disarm ordinary citizens (except themselves, of course) but, when they are the victims of violence, they are happy to see someone with a gun come to their rescue!
Translation: A citizen who is disarmed and stands by and watches while a woman is potentially being kicked to death is preferable to an armed citizen who will stop the attack.
I daresay that if Blackmore did have to shoot this guy - he’d be in jail right now facing charges.
I’d hate to have to consider risking my entire future over involving myself in someone else’s domestic abuse problems.

Lucky it wasn’t in Milwaukee proper. Didn’t the chief of police there say he’d have his “troops” put them on the ground first and then “worry” about permits later? (Is West Allis part of milwackee jurisdiction? Not sure.) And, yet again, no cops in sight to stop this attack. When seconds count................. The clean up crew arrives a half hour later. Good thing he didn’t have to pop the perp. Ex gfriend would have turned on the citizen cause she used to “luv” the big lummox.
It floored me the the police would say that. So if the Marine had been carrying without a permit, it would have been preferrable that the woman get kicked to death?

I can see that. I agree. Who knows what you or I would have done. We weren’t there. But I’d like to think I would have stopped the beat down. Told the victim to get in and I would take her to a safe place and call 911.
Even at this.... I imagine having to draw against the perp.

While those officers were off citing someone for a traffic violation, Mr. Blackmore was saving this woman from having her head kicked in.
They should be giving him the keys to the city and deputizing him.
IOW - stay out of it. When we (leos) finally show up, we'll clean the mess and do the paper work...
