Moscow, March 12, Interfax - The Russia`s Council of Muftis has asked General Director of the Russian Public Television, Anatoly Lysenko, to reserve at least 15% of air time for Islamic-themed programs.
"Muslims currently account for at least 15% of the country's population. And we think that at least 15% of the air time of the Russian Public Television, which is being created, should be dedicated to programs and films on various aspects of the Muslim community's life," the Izvestia newspaper said on Tuesday citing a letter of Ravil Gainutdin, chief of the Council of Muftis, to Lysenko.
Otherwise, the Russian Public Television will not be able to become an adequate information channel on the life of Russian society, Gainutdin said.
"Federal channels don't come to us when we hold largest international and all-Russia events, they say it's boring. We hope that the Russian Public Television will differ from them," the newspaper quoted Deputy Chairman of the Council of Muftis, Rushan Abbyasov, as saying.
Yes, you are right, I have to improve my grammar.
Invite me to Russia, I speak a little Russian. Я говорю небольшим количеством русский
Please use a better word to refer to “courage”. There are ladies present, you know?
LOL. You’ll hit it?:-)
In Russian, yes. :)
I think you can’t fix him.
I'm not sure about Russia, but some Eastern European countries are definitely in the running. They have seen the beast.
Living under communism for forty years does that to you, and there isn't much difference in the lack of freedoms and the totalitarian tyranny in that and Sharia Law. Both are ideologically driven religions with a vision of human perfection which must be enforced by the leaders harshly and without deviation.
Most of our young people don't have the faintest idea of the horrors of either one. They soon will. In the meantime, they will continue to make pleasant fantasies of both in their little minds. One day, the malignancy of it all will whack them up the side of their stupid heads and they will learn - if they manage to live through it.
