Gov. Dannel P. Malloy, who has made the creation and retention of manufacturing jobs an administration priority, left no doubt Friday that he is willing to risk the loss of firearms jobs to win a stronger assault-weapon ban that he sees as inevitable.
"We don't want to sell these weapons in our state, but they are legally manufactured. We welcome them to stay in the state, and that's up to them," Malloy said of the manufacturers. "But I think we are going to enact an assault weapons ban."

Is there anyplace in the North East which still values freedom?
The northeast does not know its priorities.
Reminds me of Obama telling Cantor “Don’t call my bluff!”
Ct residents deserve everything they get as they keep electing a-holes like Maloy.
The Courant article this AM about gun mfgs was a set up to get the desired responce for the head AH of CT
I hope the residents of Connecticut are proud of their decision to elect this asshat.
Eventually the citizenry will need to create their own ton ton macoute to protect them from this guy.
Sorry ~ similar name ~ same cracked brain people. Do not trust Irish surnamed Democrats on the East Coast. They are all fascist pigs.
You’re all yankees to me. I’m down here in Florida where the country started and where we still like freedom.
RECALL!!
Actually, due to the Spanish getting run off a time or two by the Brits, it ended up starting in Virginia!
Nah, europeans came in down here first.
There is a definite upside to all the gun and ammo manufacturers moving to red states. We will need them soon, good to have them here. I hope many of them move here to Texas.

i’m very well aware of that but they movedout several times, so the occupation was broken.
nope, some moved out and some stayed. St Augistine Florida, founded 1565 and continuously inhabited.
You’re thinking of the South East where the Spanish came up through mexico and then left. Although desoto did go through the Tampa area and up into Alabama prior to that time.
However, the mindset is the same. I'm hoping all the manufacturers in both these Donkey states pull the plug on them. There are lots of places where they will be welcomed among states in the free world.
remember, Maine is tea party strong. They have a town which has nullified all federal food laws. The governor rejects all this liberal crap. Plus, Vermont has some of the most freedom loving gun laws in the nation.
Connecticut is becoming the hard nut to crack. If we can break the liberals in CT, it will have huge national impact.
Those who aren’t need to move out.
Seriously, folks, move out of these communist hellhole states - let the libs suffer in them.
