Northwest is supposed to the nice part of DC
I was thinking that the ritzy Georgetown section is in NW, myself.
There is no part of DC at night that is “good”....in the daytime, DC is like Disney World....all the government workers ingress through underground tunnels into the playland and fill their seats, grab their government checks and provide all the trips and trappings for the major Character Players above in the Capitol and White House.
One big effing Disneyland for the Senators, Congressmen, and Executive Branch political appointees; all pampered and serviced by these daily immigrants.
At night, they go home, leaving their charges to the protection of the Secret Service, the DC Police, the Capitol Police and the multiple teams of armed bodyguards.
What’s left are the dregs that Eleanor Holms Norton serves as the non-voting Congressperson from DC....
That's west of Rock Creek Park this happened east of that.

I heard on WMAL the incident was on the North Capitol Street corridor, adjacent to New York Avenue and the 3rd Street Tunnel.
