The media calling them the “Democratic” party is propaganda. FReepers, as well as people like Rush and Glenn Beck calling them the “Democratic” party as well, are buying into the propaganda. This needs to end.

Maketa then referred to an email he’d received Wednesday saying “that the Senate Dem Leadership is very upset with the Sheriffs and their opposition to the gun control bills.”
Sheriffs’ salaries are set by state lawmakers upon the recommendation of a salary commission’s findings, he explained. “But the Dems have been dangling [the salary bill] out there and refusing to follow their own created commissions’ recommendations. They’ve put it off now for two years.”
The Senate Democrats, Maketa told Crank, were “very upset” with his “testimony in opposition on the gun bills. And they are stating that, basically, we should reconsider our position to gain a more favorable light for salary support from the Dems.”
The sheriff said he was “absolutely outraged by that. Number one, the salary bill for elected officials is a mandate of the legislature. Creating gun control is not a mandate, and in this case, there is no factual basis for it. And I made it very clear that I felt it was almost bordering extortion, attempted influence of a public official, but more so that we would be sacrificing our morals and principles in what we know is the right thing to do.”
Can we remove ‘shocking’ from the title? This isn’t shocking at all. This is day to day Democrat operations.

I’m not too familiar with CO sheriffs, but if the counties pay them, who are these clowns in the state legislature trying to threaten with loss of pay? Sheriffs do not work for the state of CO, they work for their respective counties. Time to put these bastards behind bars for threats and extortion.

The sheriffs should investigate the hell out of the extortion email. Perp walk the suspects to a sheriff’s department for questioning, in front of all the cameras.
Then say that they cannot comment about an ongoing investigation of alleged political extortion. Let the press name those who are brought in for questioning, and someone provide pictures of these lucky Democrats.
Let’s play the same game they do, but only smarter. And if someone published the home addresses and license plate numbers of those involved in the extortion effect, so be it. After all, it is public information (i.e. the phone book, etc), just like the names of registered gun owners in New York is.
Two can play at this game, but we have to be more informed, have a better message, and do it legally, unlike the Democrats.

Only Friday did I find out that New York’s SAFE law has Ex Post Facto provisions in it.
My nephew owns two shotguns (1-12Ga & 1 20-Ga), two .22LR rimfire rifles, and a bolt action 30-06 that’s been in the family since WW1 that has to be breech loaded. That makes it 5 firearms in total. The New York law classifies ownership of 5 or more firearms as a class C felony. He’s currently deployed by the military and out of the country. Does that make his mother (my sister) a felon, because she is storing the weapons for him?
the simple solution is to arrest the party chairman.
