You will never convince the lynch mob that they're wrong and it's pointless to try. The fact that there is not one legal finding that Paterno was involved in a cover-up is completely irrelevant to these haters.
The fact they they are sliming someone on the basis of hysterical ravings by commentators at ESPN (probably the biggest hypocrites on the planet) or a "report" that consists of nothing more than 40 pages of regurgitated grand jury testimony, a handful of (already known) emails and 200+ pages of pure opinion written by a despicable shill who was hired for the sole purpose of justifying bad decisions made by the Board of Trustees without any examination of what the testimony says, what the PA AG said, what the Grand Jury found, or what the emails actually says, tells you everything you need to know about these disgusting people.
I am ashamed they call themselves FReepers.
They are ignoramuses who have no desire to listen to any facts at all; they just want to light up the torches and have themselves a good little 'ol necktie party.
In heaven, we'll know the truth, and those who slander innocent people caught up in Jerry Sandusky's crimes without any justification ... won't be there.
Paterno already went on record saying he wished he had done more.
He himself already implicated himself.
I only hope some of the big-mouths around here some day have somebody point at them and mistakenly allege that they are homosexual pedophiles, since they think pointing at a man and making that accusation is an easy, happy-go-lucky thing to do.
The fact is, the assistant coach Mike McQueary never told Paterno that he witnessed an actual rape. But the old man was creeped out enough by the possibility that his former assistant coach may have done something very "inapproriate" that he did indeed send the matter up the chain of command to people who were supposed to look into it further. Those people, we now know, failed to do so.
It's scary, all the big-mouth nobodies around here who love to crucify Paterno because they apparently think it's no big deal to point at a man and accuse him of being a homosexual pedophile. They never consider the ramifications of a mistake. (Obviously, Sandusky actually did turn out to be a homosexual pedophile, we now know.) But imagine if such a brutal accusation against a man turned out to be totally false, the result of a complete misunderstanding, or even wanton malice? What would the accuser say then? "Oops. Sorry about that, heh heh."? Yeah... "Which door do I go through to get my reputation back?"
As far as I'm concerned, you don't make that kind of accusation against somebody unless you see it with your own two eyeballs. Paterno did not. McQueary (apparently) did, although even that is by no means clear. Sandusky, in fact, was acquitted of charges involving the boy McQeary allegedly saw in the shower with Sandusky. (Anyway, I still don't get how McQueary, who was at that time in 2002 a 28-year-old employee of the university, has skated on this whole thing so far? No no... It's all Paterno's fault.)
All those years went by with Sandusky on the loose and not one victim (or victim's guardians) ever came forward (aside from the woman in 1998 whose son came home with a wet head)?? How is that even possible? Like Paterno said, Sandusky had everybody fooled. Homosexual pedophiles are sneaky that way. I don't know how the cops investigate accusations of child molestation, but I suspect they do it very quietly and carefully. (And yes, we know the cops were tipped off about Sandusky back in 1998.) After that, actual victims coming forward would certainly have propelled the investigation.
Anyway, Sandusky didn't get away with decades of homosexual pedophile rape because Joe Paterno and a couple of other university officials looked the other way - - Sandusky got away with homosexual pedophile rape for decades because at least a hundred people, including his family and friends, his Second Mile associates, university donors and benefactors, and reporters looked the other way. Apparently, the cops, too.
But no - - small little people have more fun laying everything at the feet of Joe Paterno. The Penn State Board, acting out of politically correct cowardice, joined the disgraceful lynch mob. They should all be fired.
