President Barack Obama and Michelle used to talk frequently about how the White House was the “people’s house.” In fact, the White House website now carries this quote from the First Lady: “It’s the ‘People’s House.’ It’s a place that is steeped in history, but it’s also a place where everyone should feel welcome. And that’s why my husband and I have made it our mission to open up the house to as many people as we can.”
So much for that nonsense. The same week that President Obama’s administration announced that due to sequestration, White House tours would be cancelled, sources at the White House announced that it would be hosting megastars Adele and Beyonce at Michelle’s 50th birthday party next year. “America’s First Lady will be holding a huge celebrity-packed party for her birthday at the White House next year and, as she adores Adele and Beyonce, she has asked them both to sing,” the source told the UK Daily Mail. The source did say that “The Obamas will pay Adele’s expenses as it’s a private party, not a State one.”
But will they pay all the expenses of the party? Security arrangements? Food? Cleanup? White House parties are expensive affairs.
It’s obvious that the White House’s priorities don’t lie with the people. They lie with the personal party predilections of the Obamas.

Also, I am betting that most programs cannot account for the money that they are given let alone be able to prove that they need the increases that Obama is so vehemently defending.
Maybe the over reaction is a diversion by the Whitehouse to cover up the fact that government is wildly inefficient with tons of waste. And by shining a light on the inefficiencies and waste will not look good for them and their cronies. It would be Solyndra x1000.
U.S. voters didn’t elect a president in 2012, they hired a $400,000 a year White House event planner.

But the good news is that the sequester has made Obama’s ratings go down. He wanted the Republicans to be blamed for the sequester, but it backfired on him.
I thought congress had to approve all spending such as all the foreign support expenditures.
Rep. Gohmert was taking public humiliation and no accolades at all, from Bill O’Rielly the other day for bringing up the golfing.
Wanted BO to stop using our $ for golf trips and BOR said he was being petty, or said he was damaging the cause by bringing up petty things, which is the same.
The Republicans can bring this stuff up all day, but until they can catch a break from any side at all from the media, forget it.
Obamaites don’t realize they are being used just to get their votes.
I heard a man say that six months ago, he planned to take his family to D.C., but he won’t be able to enjoy the “People’s House.” Only celebrities will be able to enjoy the “People’s House.”
Really? I'd like to know what they mean by expenses. Room board and travel, I'd guess. What about her formance fee, salaries of the band, equipment rental? Is she waiving the performance fee? I recall Rush Limbaugh paid Elton John something like $1 million to play his wedding. What do Adele and Beyonce normaly charge for gigs? Will the fees be waived? Are these million dollar birthday gifts? Will the gifts be suject to tax? Will the IRS count this as income to the Obamas in the form or payment in kind?
Just think, the invitees represent the occupants of the White House highest values.
It is odd when they say how much the WH tours supposedly cost - $74,000 per week. For what? Do they hire rent-a-cops to patrol it? I don’t believe it costs that much, if at ll. Aren’t all who might be needed either salary or volunteers? It is a lie from Obama. /rhetorical rant off
