The people have spoken. Elisabeth Hasselbeck, one of the five cohorts of ABC's daytime talk show The View, will not be returning to the couch next season, following hot on the footsteps of fellow cohost Joy Behar, a source tells Us Weekly.

According to the source, the show's resident conservative voice is being ousted after market research revealed that she isn't popular with TV audiences.

I've seen clips concerning the departure of both of these two journalists. In one of the clips Whoopie got up and lumbered off the stage to protest something and as she was waddling off set I couldn't help but think that they would need to expand the doorways if she decided to leave.

TV execs don’t care about politics. They care about ratings. If they think Hasselbeck is a negative ratings-wise, she gets the boot.

Yeh but she was on almost 10 years, longer than anyone other than Walters or Behar. If they thought she was negative ratings she would have been long gone. "They care about ratings", they dont care if the viewers hate her, as long as the haters tune in hoping to see her put in her place. And the haters thought Rosie O'Donnell was the Great Fat Hope until Hassleback destroyed her.
