I am sitting pretty close to 'ground zero' (New England), and I wholeheartedly agree. Some begin to understand what it was like for Lot to have lived in Sodom and Gomorrah.
That would be a perfectly acceptable rebuttal except that most of the christians here take the bible literally and certainly take the Sodom and Gomorrah thing literally and actually DO believe in magical terrible places with lakes of fire and whatnot.
I’m am absolutely confident that the person wishing destruction upon South Hadley really does thing a magical vengeful sky king reigns death upon towns.
And by the way, this is a charter school with kids from many, many different towns. I hope god knows this when he begins his destruction.

If you aren’t a Christian, you probably wouldn’t care that God is mocked, but a lot of us do and it is our duty to express our outrage at this. And because homosexual priests are in the church that makes it okay to promote homosexuality to children and to blasphemy? Not to me, it doesn’t.

Not that you are owed an explaination about a God and faith you reject, but no one “calls God’s fire down” on anyone else. I doubt the governments of Saudi Arabia or Iran would permit much a school play.
I’m not equipped with enough biblical knowledge to discuss your response. However, I can see that you are pushing some meme.

I usually stay far away. This type of stuff has no bearing on my life. As you can tell, I’m not part of the christian wing of the conservative movement. I find it has damaged the efforts more than it has helped. I’ts fine to morally object to a stupid play in a far off state that you feel denigrates your religions. I get that.
But to take it to the next level and pretend that god is going to judge the town (even if it’s a charter school with kids from all over) and possibly destroy it - is, I’m afraid, asinine.

That is one mighty big step then. It is a long way from anonymous posting on an internet discussion board to actively hunting down and actively murdering “heretics” in the name of their god. In fact, I’d say that there is at least one step in between, which are those that hand out candies in celebration of the killing of a Jewish family in their own home.
But that’s just me being objectve....
Feel free to flame away at folks for their religion, I won’t stand in your way, however you should really go back and read your posts with a special eye towards moral relativism.
