US President Barack Obama has invited a group of Republican senators for dinner in an effort to advance budget negotiations, the White House has said.
Not invited were Republican leaders, with whom Mr Obama's budget talks in recent weeks had stalled.

Wednesday's dinner follows several phone calls the president has held in recent days with Republican senators, some of whom have responded warmly to the gesture.
"This is how you solve hard problems," South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham told the Associated Press.

The move suggests Mr Obama hopes to consolidate support among a group of Republicans who appear prepared to negotiate, analysts say.

Divide and conquer.
Lindsey’s hoping for the presidential reach-around.
Who was invited??
What’s on the menu, harry reid says seniors and families are starving in Nevada.
Who was invited??
The African communist scumbag is trolling for liberal Republicans. The list of his invitees would likely read like a "who's who" of scumbags who need to be primaried out of existence, but aside from usual suspect Lindsey Graham, the AP story offers no other names.
Lindsey’s problem hasn’t been hard in YEARS.
Dinner with the Devil.
I know Burr was going to be there.
I think it’s safe to say Collins from Maine will be there.
She may even have a price tag on her hat like Minnie Pearl used to wear, only this one will say what she will sell her vote for.
I want names. These people should be supporting and helping Mr. Rand and save the “compromise” lie. They are RINO’s.
Maybe they’ll bring a doggie bag over to Rand in the Senate Chamber.....
Divide and conquer, that’s what they do. This is an opportunity to see which media, reporters, and institutions do Obama’s bidding, and which RINO’s are willing to sell out.. It’s all good.
I think I saw these Republicans under a freeway overpass with a sign that read: “You can have my vote for food”
