Saw him live in Ten Years After in '74. It was a memorable show, and he was one hell of a guitarist.
Cricklewood Green is still a favorite.

Same here. TYA was touring with Spooky Tooth and Humble Pie. Rockingest show I ever saw. Alvin Lee jumped off the stage, grabbed the joint out of my best buddie’s hand shouting “Gimme that f’n joint”, jumped back on stage and kept jamming. They weren’t wireless then. That was a really long cord.

Saw him on the same tour at Tampa Stadium - did a great version of "Hey Joe".
