Hollywood bids a fond farewell to Hugo Chavez By: Patrick Gavin March 6, 2013 07:05 AM EST
As the legacy of Hugo Chavez gets debated in the wake of his passing, filmmakers Michael Moore and Oliver Stone took to Twitter to praise the late Venezuelan president.
You wont hear much nice about him in the US media in the next few days. So, I thought Id say a couple things to provide some balance wrote Moore.
Hugo Chavez declared the oil belonged 2 the ppl. He used the oil $ 2 eliminate 75% of extreme poverty, provide free health & education 4 all. That made him dangerous. US approved of a coup to overthrow him even though he was a democratically-elected President. 54 countries around the world allowed the US to detain(& torture) suspects. Latin America, thanks 2 Chavez, was the only place that said no.
Moore shared a picture of him meeting with Chavez in 2009 at the Venice Film Fest.
We spoke for over an hour. He said he was happy 2 finally meet someone Bush hated more than him.
Oliver Stone said, I mourn a great hero to the majority of his people and those who struggle throughout the world for a place. Hated by the entrenched classes, Hugo Chavez will live forever in history. My friend, rest finally in a peace long earned.
Roseanne Barr also tweeted out her mourning over Chavez, saying, Ruling Classes hated Hugo Chavez. RIP. Recording artist M.I.A said the same .
Sean Penn said in a statement to the Hollywood Reporter that the people of the United States lost a friend it never knew it had. And poor people around the world lost a champion.

F*****
BELIEVABLE
“2 eliminate 75% of extreme poverty, provide free health & education 4 all”
Funny how that health care was not good enough for him...just the POOR PEOPLE...
Why is it? You KNOW they will celebrate the exact opposite of good, right and just every time.
No surprise here. They had their statements written months ago.
This is a spiritual battle. Evil is on the left, God is on the right.
And I'm stuck in the middle with you. ;)
Michael Moore wants to “provide some balance”. I hope that that balance is up to the task.
Another crock by morons.
Incredibly naive. Loved the remarks in Argo about Hollywood, the town “where everyone lies” and makes “fake movies”.
Leftist scumbags mourn the passing of a fellow leftist scumbag. Nothing to see here.
My list of graves to dance upon just got a little longer...
2000 years ago, any random person on FR would be considered the Oracle of Delphi or a prophet. Because we can predict future events like this with 100% accuracy.
The truth of course is that the left has become a total characture of itself. They are wholly predictable bases on the simple fact that they do/say/whatever the wrong thing always. If it hurts America, they support it. If it advances atheism/communism/the welfare state/whatever, they are there with bells on. No thinking, no nothing. Just wrong for the sake of being wrong.
And we know it’s wrong because thousands of years worth of failes things they back show it to be true.
A college kid could do a hell of a thesis on this. Except his liberal professors would fail him for it. But 200 years from now, he’d be seen as an Einstein of our time.
They’re just upset because now they have to look elsewhere for their cocaine.
I believe Chavez and his group were in essence drug trafficers who received their wealth from drug trade and massive bribe taking.
There hasn’t been so much mourning in Hollywood since Stalin died, 60 years earlier to the day.
These people are identifying themselves beyond a shadow of a doubt by praising this man. Now we KNOW for sure they are despotic, immoral and completely Godless.
Yep, they are the typical members of the Film Actors Guild.
“My list of graves to dance upon just got a little longer...”
Maybe we should coordinate our visitation schedules. I’d hate to see you slip on a wet grave I’d just payed my respects at and hurt yourself.
