The impending sequester did not prevent the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) from acting in late February to seal a $50-million deal to purchase new uniforms for its agents--uniforms that will be partly manufactured in Mexico.
Soon after this new investment in TSA uniforms, Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano warned Americans that the lines are already lengthening at airports due to the sequester.
...
the TSA said the uniforms will be "manufactured in the U.S. and Mexico."
Under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, the TSA is required to procure uniforms made in the United States. However, uniform products made in Mexico, Canada or Chile must also be considered due to the North American Free Trade Agreement and the U.S.-Chilean Free Trade Agreement.

Black or camo with black boots just like every other LEO wears so you cannot tell the difference when they are called into action.
“complies with the law”
at this time what difference does that make
30 years ago our president fired government transportation workers for a work stoppage aimed at the American public.
Today our president is threatening to fire (well dressed) government workers who don’t conduct a work stoppage against the American public.
Uhhhmmmmmm...........Arrest this guy.

If the TSA is going to be short handed (furloughs, lay offs) because of the SEQUESTER, and they provide uniforms ONLY for new hires....this doesn’t make sense. Nor does the purchase by Homeland Security of 2,717 light armored tanks. I just don’t get it.
Funny how we all know what we're dealing with - thugs. Thugs - thugs who've had power go to their heads...
I’d only let the TSA sceeners wear clown suits and rubber noses while at work.
I’d only let the TSA screeners wear clown suits and rubber noses while at work.
From the article: The TSA employs 50,000 security officers, inspectors, air marshals and managers. That means that the uniform contract will pay the equivalent of $1,000 per TSA employee over the course of the year.
...purchase by Homeland Security of 2,717 light armored tanks.
That’s more than 50 tanks per US state. I can’t think of any level of civil disorder to justify our government to make this purchase. If we citizens are ever this dissatisfied over an issue, it’s government that should capitulate, not we citizens.
Bulletproof underwear is more expensive than you might think....
Isn’t that special and I didn’t even get a thank you card. Last time I bought shoes was 9 years ago and those were on sale for $5. Last time I bought a pair of jeans was about 5 years ago and on sale.
This needs to go viral.
Just another round of Obama&Co shell game.
