I didn't try that, but I did go to 6 weeks of ROTC Summer Camp in 1964 at Ft. Riley, KA. We spent our first week camping out in the Kansas sun and I had an aerosol can of shaving cream in my duffel. Suffice it to say, after that experience, I made sure to take a tube of shaving cream, not an aerosol can, on any future, similar camping experiences.
