Stymied by a GOP House, Obama looks ahead to 2014 to cement his legacy (Be afraid, be very afraid)
Washington Post ^ | 03/03/2013 | Scott Wilson and Philip Rucker

President Obama, now facing the consequences of automatic spending cuts and the complications they raise for his broader domestic agenda, is taking the most specific steps of his administration in an attempt to ensure the election of a Democratic-controlled Congress in two years.

“What I can’t do is force Congress to do the right thing,” Obama told reporters at the White House on Friday after a fruitless meeting with Republican leaders to avert the country’s latest fiscal crisis, known as the sequester. “The American people may have the capacity to do that.”

Obama, fresh off his November reelection, began almost at once executing plans to win back the House in 2014, which he and his advisers believe will be crucial to the outcome of his second term and to his legacy as president. He is doing so by trying to articulate for the American electorate his own feelings — an exasperation with an opposition party that blocks even the most politically popular elements of his agenda.

Obama has committed to raising money for fellow Democrats, agreed to help recruit viable candidates, and launched a political nonprofit group dedicated to furthering his agenda and that of his congressional allies. The goal is to flip the Republican-held House back to Democratic control, allowing Obama to push forward with a progressive agenda on gun control, immigration, climate change and the economy during his final two years in office, according to congressional Democrats, strategists and others familiar with Obama’s thinking.

“The president understands that to get anything done, he needs a Democratic majority in the House of Representatives,” said Rep. Steve Israel (N.Y.), chairman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. “To have a legacy in 2016, he will need a House majority in 2014, and that work has to start now.”

In other words...the distribution of Obama Phones,EBT cards and Green Cards to wetbacks will be accelerated. And the decreasing percentage of citizens whom actually produce something of value will be stuck with the bill.I think it's called “robbing Peter to pay Paul”.

Watch carefully certain secretaries of state. One of which is Mark Ritchie of Minnesota. I smell a massive voter fraud setup. 200% voter turnouts.

I'm sure the Demonrats and Oh bummer! will double down on the lessons learned in the successful (whether it was solely responsible for Romney's defeat or not)vote fraud of the 2012 Presidential elections to attempt to steal the 2014 midterm election and give 0bumble virtual dictatorial powers to achieve his legacy.

Finally, I was able to stomach watching “it”. For those who can’t, I’ll break the video down for you:

“Blah ... Republicans are mean and everything wrong is their fault ... Forward! (Backward ... whatever) ... entitlements ... be scared ‘cause some who are overpaid by the gov will suffer a pay cut ... Republicans’ fault ... one half of one percent ... it could have been better but for Republicans ... ‘Let’s be clear’ (of course) ... no one in America should ever suffer ... the ‘well-off’ should be made to suffer ... everybody needs to give something ... fair, fair for everyone (but the well-off, of course) ... education (indoctrination) will suffer ... everybody agrees with me, including some Republicans, but they won’t say it out loud ... I am always right and everybody agrees with me except those damned Republicans who don’t fall for my crap ... blah, blah”

That’s the first few minutes anyway.

Gotta go puke.

OFA must be shut down. Period. These people cannot be allowed to continue. The rich behind the funding need to be exposed and taken out of the picture. Because the low-info minions are too naïve or inept to do so. Find the illegal skirting of the law, find the examples. Expose them over and over. James O’Keefe times 10000. We need the narrative and we need to get it back right now.

A second term President has to accomplish what he wants to get done in his first year.

By 2014 Obama is a lameduck and will be hitting the round the world tour that all 2nd term Presidents end up on.

From what I understand, if there is a 2/3 majority vote, Congress can authorize whatever changes to the Constitution they see fit.

So, considering that there is a very real chance that the Democrats grip on power will be in jeopardy, in the coming years as the population starts to experience the consequences of the decisions of a Democrat-majority Congress, I do think there is a very real chance that the Dems will go all out to consolidate their power into something much more permanent.

Or at least weaken the GOP house further.

Bohner has already decided to pass in House anything Reid can get passed and send to the House, with House Dems votes.

The GOP in house cant agree on any alternative bills so Bohner just passes what Reid sends him.

Didnt see this coming? I did.

Since Obama is not personally running, most of his communist fellow-travelers will stay home.

I think this is incorrect.

In 2010 the Baraqqis figured momentum from the 08 election would carry them through, and they were wrong.

Now they are converting the (very effective) campaign apparatus to an ongoing "progressive" thrust.

If our people show up, we will win. Part of the reason why Romney lost is because a lot of our people did not show up. There are reasons for why our people did not show up, some good, some not-so-good. Most of us here at FR did not trust Romney because we knew he was the “Rhinoiest” of rinos. Anyhow, whatever Romney’s failings, I showed up and voted. I know others, who despite their reservations, did the same. If we turnout in force, to hell with the dem’s political machine, we will win. Their subservient electorate will not be as motivated without their cult leader on the ticket. We can do it, iffen we are of a mind to do so.

I hope you’re right.
Personally I’m very pessimistic.

Every year 2.5 million (mostly white, old, 65% R voting) people die, replaced by (mostly minority, 70% D voting) people.
Liberals control education, media, and the internet so I don’t see this pattern changing in my lifetime.

And your favorite congresscritters are?

It would really help to see where your perspective is coming from.

Posters operating under a false flag always have a tough time with this question. They can’t actually bring themselves to give a straight answer, because there really isn’t one.

You are not one of “those,” are you?
