Obama signs order for "sequester" budget cuts
Matt Spetainick
(Reuters) - President Barack Obama on Friday signed an order that starts putting into effect across-the-board budget cuts known as the "sequester" after he and congressional leaders failed to find an alternative budget plan.
The White House released a copy of Obama's directive entitled "Sequestration Order for Fiscal Year 2013." Government agencies will now begin to hack a total of $85 billion from their budgets between Saturday and October 1.

Obama is a rookie joke.
But we already knew that.
Unbelievable is he. Pathetic.

It may, but purely due to politics. These “cuts” are decreases in coded-in increased budgets (see baseline budgeting). In other words, sequestration mandates NO actual cuts. However, actual cuts will be made where they do the most damage for purely political reasons.

Absolutely. It’s unbelievable that “the press” is taking Obama’s side in this. It’s all Obama, and nothing but. This has to shine through, I believe. It’s a total Wizard of Oz situation. At some point he’s going to be standing there at the controls with nowhere to turn ... Let’s hope.

Not sure how it will wash out. For now, I work to keep my customer happy so my paycheck and that of my co-workers doesn't go away. We have to maintain top quality to ensure winning the re-compete on our contract. I've had many out of town trips that lasted as long as 3 months completely away from home. This one morphed from a 6 week commitment into nearly 4 years with visits home (always at my expense) for holidays. It's just getting old.
Stay safe yourself! Train wrecks are always hard to watch. Even more so when you're compelled to ride the train.

So it's official.
Obama lied to Romney in the third debate when he said that sequestration would never happen.
He knew it would all along.

MooseChelles next vacation will be reduced by 45 minutes.... Since we also pay for her transportation to and from these vacations, I propose we send her 90% of the way to Hawaii.

The sequester law was Obama’s design so let him eat it. Besides, the budget could use a lot of trimming.

That just might happen as the value of the dollar falls. We will have to start producing goods and growing food in the US again. It will be the foreign products that will become unaffordable.
Also in harsh economic times government will have no other choice but to start cutting benefits. There will be fewer divorces and fewer people being rewarded for getting pregnant out of wedlock with children they never wanted. There may be an upside to all of this. (this is my wish anyway)

You've got that right.
The main stream media and this current day CULTure is nothing but a cult and has forsaken God.
To: smoothsailing
The real shocker to this cult would be that the stock markets and financial markets respond positivly to the budget cuts.
They would be real shocked that the credit rating for the US would improve and respond to America getting it's finaical house in order.
What a shocker.

“Obama lied to Romney in the third debate when he said that sequestration would never happen.”
Yes, I had that in mind also. He actually lied to the American people. Didn't matter to him whether or not the sequester would happen, he simply presented the statement as fact with the full knowledge that the “press” would never call him on it if proved wrong.

You would be better off getting a camper or buy a shipping container and have someone weld a boat trailer to the under side, convert the shipping contianer into a small house and ask your boss if you could live on their parking lot.
