A Texas high school student has filed a federal lawsuit against her school and her teachers after she was punished for refusing to salute and recite the Mexican pledge of allegiance.
The Thomas More Law Center filed the suit on behalf of Brenda Brinsdon alleging the McAllen Independent School District violated the 15-year-old girls constitutional rights when she was forced to recite the Mexican pledge and sing the Mexican national anthem.

Brinsdon, who is the daughter of a Mexican immigrant and an American father, refused. She believed it was un-American to pledge a loyalty oath to another country.
Ironically, the school district has a policy that prohibits a school from compelling students to recite the American Pledge of Allegiance.
The district also has a written policy that excuses students from reciting text from the Declaration of Independence if the student as determined by the district, has a conscientious objection to the recitation.
There is a sad trend in public schools across our nation to undermine American patriotism, said Richard Thompson president of the Thomas More Law Center. But its encouraging to see students like Brenda stand up for America despite pressure from school officials.

I believe you could lose your US citizenship for doing that.
Make an oath of allegiance to a foreign nation in which the oath requires you to denounce your American citizenship.

For years I used to travel down there and to Brownsville for business and it was always like going into Mexico.
starting to look that way
Color me stunned....
There was another thread on this earlier this morning - seems the event happened in 2011.
And Perry is courting businesses and people from CA. (beware what you ask for TX) I will be moving from PA in the future to a more conservative state, but I am not advertising it. Hopefully it will remain under the radar.
“A Texas high school student has filed a federal lawsuit against her school and her teachers” .............GREAT!!!

A Texas high school student was punished for refusing to salute and recite the Mexican pledge of allegiance.
This smells a little hoaxy to me. Is there even such a thing as a Mexican pledge of allegiance?
So where is Rick Perry on the issue ?
What the hell it F&Fs!!
If you’re to lazy to type it out don’t post it!
Nowhere is safe from liberal lunacy. We in the blue states combat it openly but even red states have their lunatic contingent.
True, I’m here in Hernando Cty, FL, one of “cracker counties” the left likes to deride. Yet right down the road from me is one of those UN-sponsored IB World schools.
