It’s definitely hardwood. One of the upstairs bedrooms has the hw exposed and it looks rather nice, but the downstairs may be worn down too much.

I paid to have our oak floors to be redone but it sure looked easy. You can rent the sander and the stain and finish isn’t that expensive.

Speaking of guns . . .

Weird thing happened at work today. My office mate had to call our IT help center, which has been partially outsourced overseas (naturally). They technician asked her if there was anything on her computer related to firearms or ammunition. We found out it had something to do with ITAR, a regulation regarding import or export of firearms.

But what that had to do with computers is beyond me.

I've done my own, in-laws’, and my brothers’ oak floors. It's not to hard, but to do it right it TAKES A LOOOOOONG TIME.

Of course I'm old school and use oil based stains and polyurethane. A lot of drying time.
