I paid to have our oak floors to be redone but it sure looked easy. You can rent the sander and the stain and finish isn’t that expensive.

Lots of YouTubes too.

I've done my own, in-laws’, and my brothers’ oak floors. It's not to hard, but to do it right it TAKES A LOOOOOONG TIME.

Of course I'm old school and use oil based stains and polyurethane. A lot of drying time.
