http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-19671446 An example of Chinese cultural thought on all the matters I brought up ~ this is the marsh, there are the bandits, here come the Chinese WHEN the bandits get out of hand and disturb the center.

Notice that it doesn't matter to any of them that Big China, which has no jurisdiction in any of this, took the lead in disposing of the named bandits!!!

I read this and said to my self SOOOOOOOOOOOOO Chinese ~ and look at the Thais, Cambodians, Laotians, Burmese ~ they share the same world view in these matters.

Yes, great point. Notice the written character for China - center land/center state.

Our earlier discussion lead to memories of the visiting the Sun Yat Sen Memorial in 1990 on my way through Guangzhou on pilgrimage to Mount Kailas in Western Tibet. I looked the memorial up on line just now, to find it almost unrecognizable after a 1998 remodeling. I have fond memories of the juxtaposition of the memorial to Sun and his vision with the narrow, bustling nearby streets where men were busy collecting the morning’s night soil to take to the countryside.
