Congressman Keith Ellison (D-Minn.) had an amazingly heated discussion with Fox News's Sean Hannity Tuesday evening.
At the beginning of the six-minute slugfest, Ellison called his host "the worst excuse for a journalist I've ever seen" leading to a truly ugly encounter that culminated in Hannity ending the interview by saying to his guest, "You are a total waste of time"
Not long ago, I was driving during the daytime on a long lonely stretch of northern Arizona in an area were it’s notoriously difficult to get anything on the AM radio due to the remoteness. Hannity was the only thing on, so I listened. He was interviewing James Carville. Treated him with kid gloves, joking with him and ribbing him like an old friend. No tough questions at all. After the commercial break, a regular caller chimed in with a minor difference of opinion, and Sean laid into him like he was talking to a member of the neo-nazis. I’ve never been a fan of Hannity, but it was at that time I realized he has a real screw loose.
Didn’t watch but listened on way home..Hannity usually shuts/cuts idiots like this off so I don’t understand why he let this douche blather on. I agree, Hannity looked weak. He should’ve known that what Ellison was trying to pull is the classic lib filibuster. They know they can’t win the argument so they just try to talk over & bully their opponent.
A perfect example of the complete lack of emotional control muzzie raghead males have. A lot of taqiyya too.
By letting the idiot raghead rant on Hannity let Ellison destroy himself forever.
Hannity tries to be a gentleman and promote fairness in his dealings with guests. Unfortunately his leftists guests didn’t get the “good behavior” notice or they destroyed it. Same difference.
If I were Hannity (whom I’ve met), I would ask Ellison one question: “As a Moslem, who would you obey/do as commanded, if your Imam, or Louis Farrakhan, or the Grand Mufti of whatever, commanded you to attack Jews, Christians, or the US in “defense of Islam”?
It would be “faith” over “loyalty to one’s country”. I’d love to hear the answer, and listen how Ellison would worm his way out addressing it directly.
Why Sean gives that dolt so much air time, I will never understand.
I have a really, really hard time believing that Holder actually earned a law degree. She seems to be about one step up from Snooki or Kim Kardashian to me...
Oh, LOTS of that...
He should have cut his mic.
I usually watch Hannity to see if Katie Pavlich or Michelle Fields will be a guest.
Ellison just goes to show you that stupid people vote for stupid people.
"When your enemy is in the process of destroying himself, stay out of his way." - Sun Tzu
Hannity now has about eight minutes of video of Ellison stomping his feet like an eight year old.
In fairness to Sean, who IMO is a genuinely nice guy (who I’ve met), he never has claimed to be a journalist. He’s a talk show host and that’s all he’s ever called himself.
There was a time, back when Hannity first came to WABC in New York (what, 20 years ago?) when he would have twisted Ellison’s head off like a bottle of ketchup. But for at least the past ten years he’s been a timid little fellow who (apparently) honestly believes he can turn liberals into conservatives by being nice and repeating the same things over and over as if he’s bashfully lecturing a classroom full of 12-year-olds. I stopped listening to his radio show and watching his TV show long, long ago. His heart is in the right place but there’s no real fire anymore.
Hannity is a gutless RINO who traded his soul for fame.
Ellison is the worst excuse for an American I’ve ever seen.
I don’t watch Hannity as a rule. O’Reilly either.
But let us get something right, Ellison: Hannity is not a journalist. He is a commentator.
Ellison is obviously an uneducated clown. Like his hero Zero.
Hannity knows that when a guest goes into filibuster mode the easiest route is to goad them into motor mouth. Once into motor mouth, the quest's position is completely destroyed by the image they are projecting. Hannity knows that in order to carry your argument, you have to act civil and treat your opponent with respect. With Ellison repeating the same words over and over, he had entered the zone that Hannity wanted him to go. Ellison became a rude bully. For Hannity, the rest was a piece of cake. He had him where he wanted him. Once that happened, Hannity didn't have to say anything to win the argument. Ellison had put himself in the noose and hung himself. When I watched the entire segment, I was all too happy to see Ellison self-destruct. I only wished that Hannity would have put the icing on the cake with a few choice words to squash the bug that Ellison was, and send him out with a skid mark.
What have traded your soul for? Hardman.
At age 19, while attending Wayne State University in Detroit, Ellison converted from Catholicism to Islam, later giving the following explanation: “I can’t claim that I was the most observant Catholic at the time. I had begun to really look around and ask myself about the social circumstances of the country, issues of justice, issues of change. When I looked at my spiritual life, and I looked at what might inform social change, justice in society... I found Islam.”
he wrote several articles in support of Louis Farrakhan of the Nation of Islam.
Kim Ellison is not Muslim, but their four children have been raised in that faith. During Ellison’s 2006 campaign, Kim Ellison revealed that she had been living with moderate multiple sclerosis for several years. Ellison filed for a legal separation from Kim in 2010, and their divorce was finalized on May 2, 2012.
He garnered national attention with his decision to use a Qur’an that once belonged to President Thomas Jefferson for his reenacted swearing-in ceremony
In 2009 and 2011, Ellison had a 100% rating from NARAL Pro-Choice America indicating a pro-choice voting record. In 2009, Ellison condemned the assassination of Dr. George Tiller by an anti-abortion activist, saying “There is no room in America to justify murder in the name of ideological differences.
In late March and early April 2007, Ellison was a member of a congressional delegation on a “fact-finding trip to the Middle East.” The group included Representatives Henry Waxman, Tom Lantos, Louise Slaughter, Nick Rahall, Dave Hobson, who were led by Speaker Nancy Pelosi. The delegation visited the Church of the Holy Sepulchre and the Western Wall. Ellison called his visit to Islam’s third-holiest site, the Al-Aqsa Mosque, as “personally moving”. The group met with Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and discussed the peace plan devised by the Saudis in 2002. The delegation also met with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.
As a law student in 1989 and 1990, Ellison wrote several columns under the name “Keith E. Hakim” in the student newspaper, the Minnesota Daily. Washington Post Staff Writer Alan Cooperman said that Ellison’s articles “defended Farrakhan against accusations of anti-semitism,” and that Ellison “called affirmative action a ‘sneaky’ form of compensation for slavery, suggesting instead that white Americans pay reparations to blacks.”
In early 2006, the Minnesota State Campaign Finance and Public Disclosure Board reprimanded Ellison for unreported campaign contributions, discrepancies in cash balances, and misclassified disbursements during his campaigns for the Minnesota House of Representatives. These transgressions occurred in the years 20022004. In 2005, the board opened an investigation, and Ellison was subpoenaed and fined.
Ellison was repeatedly fined for late filings, was sued twice by the Attorney General of Minnesota, and was warned about absent or incomplete disclosures
On July 8, 2007, Ellison discussed the power of the executive branch in a speech before the organization Atheists for Human Rights. He stated that Dick Cheney asserted it was “beneath his dignity in order for him to answer any questions from the citizens of the United States. That is the very definition of totalitarianism, authoritarianism and dictatorship.” He went on to say, “It’s almost like the Reichstag fire, kind of reminds me of that. After the Reichstag was burned, they blamed the Communists for it and it put the leader of that country, Hitler, in a position where he could basically have authority to do whatever he wanted. The fact is that I’m not saying September 11 was a U.S. plan or anything like that because, you know, that’s how they put you in the nut-ball box dismiss you.

About 37 minutes into the debate on KFAI-FM radio, Republican candidate Chris Fields accused Ellison of paying a firm $240,000 to dig up information on Fields’s divorce. The Minneapolis Star Tribune reported it was recently discovered that Fields’s ex-wife sought a restraining order against him in 2006.
Ellison responded by saying he did not pay anyone to dig up dirt on Fields, and said Fields was “stupid” for raising this issue.
“You’re really stupid for bringing up your domestic violence charges,” Ellison said, as Fields accused Ellison of shorting his own ex-wife on child-support payments.
Fields also charged Ellison with trying to hurt the feelings of his ex-wife, whom the Republican said he still loves.
“You’re a scumbag,” Ellison said as Fields continued to talk. “You’re a massive ... you are a lowlife scumbag. You are a lowlife scumbag. You are a gutter dweller.”
