He got just enough votes from Republicans to make try and make it look like their is not one party in in the United State Senate with just a few exceptions. McCain is a Democrat and no one can tell me he is not playing for the other side.
Rand Paul voted for him....
Several RINOs who voted to end debate also voted against confirmation. Call their office and complain of their vote and they will tell you they voted against it. Call supporting Hagel and they will proudly tell you they voted for him. Two faced bastards.
Driving home tonight, CBS News radio said Hagel was “easily confirmed.” MSM needs to get its spin straight.
Re my post at #12. I do believe the younger Paul is just as unstable, and unpredictable, perhaps as nuts as the older Paul. He puts on a good show, and then runs over the cheering audience with a bulldozer.
They call it a “bruising struggle” and “a long and contentious nomination process.”
Nowhere do they mention a botched, inept, embarassing, sophmoric appearance before the vetting committee.
Just like the NYT’s coverage of Obama vs. the Republicans:
Draw attention only to the fact that there is opposition, never the reasons why there is opposition.
FUNYT
Congress is totally corrupt...never trust or believe Politicians, especially Professional ones whoes's only employment is collecting tax payer money...
~ Larry Elder, "The Ten Things You Can't Say In America"
RINOs - still pretending they aren’t big government liberals.
But not fooling anyone but themselves.
The good Ol’ Boy Senate Club is more important to them than the defense of the country.
I just don’t think this matters much one way or the other.
This will only embolden the kenyan to nominate more buffoons. That the GOP allowed themselves to be so brazenly buffaloed is historic.
Dems would have never, ever have allowed a vote with Hagel still refusing to answer the questions asked by the committee. We are led by cheese eating surrender monkeys. Words fail me.
Patriots nationwide now have only one task.
Destroy the Republicrats and the apparatchiks in DC by any means necessary, and negate their ability to steal cash from the working man outside the Beltway via income tax withholding.
The Washingtonians must be neutralized.
Man, I just laid into Richard Shelby’s ass with an e-mail that was a scorcher. I told him to man up and get the hell out of the Republican party and join his liberal friends. I told him he should open a spot for a real conservative. Lol, it was bad. He may put a hit on me so if I disappear you’ll all know what happened. Laughs. I’m sick of sleeper liberals popping up in the Republican party on crucial votes. I’m sad for my state because of the shame and embarrassment Shelby has caused with his treason. Shelby is a stinking politician and most likely was paid off to vote for Hagel. He will never ever get any respect from me again. I’m done with him.
The vote was actually a lot closer than I was expecting. I’ve been of a mind the hold up on Hagel’s nom was always a bargaining chip to force Obama to release some information about Benghazi. Maybe that disastrous appearance by Chuck hurt him more than I’d reckoned.
So Chuck “Foster Brooks’’ Hagel is the new Sec. Def. Good lord.
We aren’t going to agree with every Senator on every issue, dammit.
Rand Paul is being dismissed on this board because of a single frickin’ vote.
Folks who do that are absurd. They’re content to forever pissed off, apparently.
Good luck getting a governing majority with that attitude.
Reasoning of four Republicans?
1. Obama was going to be mean to us if we didn’t act bipartisan
2. Obama promised us goodies if we acted bipartisan
3. Hagel has a Constitutional right to be stupid. Kerry said so.
4. We are RINOs. It’s what we do.
5. We have to prove we aren’t in the pocket of the Israeli Lobby.
6. The Oil Lobby said so.
7. The NY Times said so.
8. Hagel performed like a stumblebum. That proves he’s sincere.
9. We are almost as humble as the President, and only half as brave.
10. All of the above.
