Thank you for posting that. I am very hard on the Pope because I think he knew about and hid abuse in his former job with the Church.
But if it turns out that it looks like he did fall on the sword to rip the rug out from under the nightmare then I will have to praise him.
I will say again, this reminds me of The Franklin Cover Up.
And to repeat the words of the dead former CIA director:
“What you have to understand, John, is that sometimes there are forces and events too big, too powerful, with so much at stake for other people or institutions, that you cannot do anything about them, no matter how evil or wrong they are and no matter how dedicated or sincere you are or how much evidence you have. Maybe it takes a Pope resigning to clear the evil from the Church.
Btw, just as important and hard to control is the money laundering at the Vatican Bank.
