Okay, I get the sentiment - but in a practical basis - what does that mean? How do you walk that one out? Do you just not care any more if you are taxed or regulated into the poor house? Do you quit supporting causes like, oh, pro life or sanctity of marriage? Will you be happy to hear from the Obama Care death panel now? I mean, you can walk away from the system, but the system will not walk away from you.
Yet, on Election Day, there was little to no Get out the Vote effort by the Republicans, no armies of lawyers checking for voter fraud, and the next day everybody was talking like this election was like any other election.
I'm sorry, but I DID believe this election was "the most important in a generation". Before Obama was elected, my family had a 6-figure income, we owned a house, we tithed to our church, and helped out those in need. After 5 years of Obama, we're on Food Stamsp, lost the house, declared bankruptcy, and are on the receiving end of that charity.
Now that I see that the Republican party loves and admires Obama as much as Rahm Emanuel does, I agree with you: following the King of Kings is way better than trusting in Princes.
All that matters to the govt is, will you continue to pay income tax to support its efforts, or not?
What does it matter? The Representatives we send to Washington, for the these reasons we’re sending them there, turn out to be closet left-wing Regressive Progladytes who, through their actions, show they love and admire Obama and only pretended to be Conservative so the “Idiot Rubes” back home would elect them.
I too, am tired. Even our local Republican town committee is full of wishy-washy, limp wristed rinos. They can’t band together to oppose the most ridiculous gun bill.
I would say let them have it but what do I tell my sons in five years when there are soviet style marches in the streets of D.C.?
How do I look them in the eye and say, “I tried!”?
Indeed. They system will not walk away from you, no matter what you do. Good walk down memory lane here, but the conclusion is that no one will be ever left to mind their own life again:http://www.fredoneverything.net/Guns.shtml
I relate. Once one realizes that spiritual warfare is taking place, it begins to make more sense. May God bless you.
I think following the example of Christ is the right thing to do. Peter was willing to take on the Roman Army and Jesus stopped him. If He had not stopped him, I don’t think Peter would have been around to be the rock Jesus needed him to be.
As for what do you tell your grandkids, tell them to ask their parents what happened. If we’re around to tell them anything.
Then why are you even posting here? Your very presence here demonstrates that you don’t even believe everything you say. Think about it.
Yeah. You just have to keep promoting these totally unprincipled sleazebags because they say the right things for a few months, long enough to get themselves elected to a position where you and I do not matter any more. As a representative or governor or senator his future is paved with satin by the money thrown at him in his first term and he does not have to rely on even being re-elected for that Easy Street address, though it would be nice. He does what he has to do to get elected and then does what he has to do to get himself financially insulated. So far, our Tea Party heroes have more often than not, proven to be plain old generic politicians. I cheer when a Cruz stands up for principle but that is just today. How many days can/will he keep that up when he is denying himself Ease and access to fashionable cocktail parties? I have no faith in any of them.
You can pick and choose scriptures to prove anything you want. The fact remains, at the time Christ stopped Peter and the sword...it was a key moment in Christ fulfilling all that He was sent to do.
God used violence often - and he sent us all 66 books to review. Paul used sarcasm, logic and debated very passionately in the years after the incident you cherry picked. If God has called you to do nothing politically (and that may indeed be the case) - please don’t assume we all have that same following. Such would be to totally IGNORE why God used “the body” as His analogy.
They will look you in the eye and ask why didn't you get out when you still could?
Your description of the political career ladder is more or less accurate, but if you are indicating that the only two choices are “more of the same” or “nothing” - then I am not participating in your limitations.
I’ll answer as if you were asking me those questions. I get hung up on all this stuff and wring my hands over what’s going to happen. I think, however, the answer is to trust God and get close to Him.
He was the one who gave us this glorious nation to begin with. He stirred the hearts of godly men to fight for what we have. He can do it again, but only if we’re close to Him. There is a practical definition for this. Reading His word and talking to Him. Read Philippians 4 (KJV because I doubt the other version’s credibility because they were translated in the age of Postmodernism and utilize dynamic equivalence).
CEW: “You can walk away from the system, but the system will not walk away from you.”
That sums it up. I understand the poster’s sentiments, but the left won’t leave us alone. They mean to control our children, our property, and even our bodies.
Really, the only way to “let them have it all”, ie, to fully experience the consequences of their ideology,
is secession. And that would mean war, because there’s no way they’d just let us get out from under their thumb.
Keep fighting the good fight. Don’t compromise your principles. Rest assured that in the end we will be victorious. Keep it in perspective and remember that THIS is not our home.
I agree with everything you said, except, it does NOT answer the question. The question of a personal relationship to God is NOT the same question as what we are called to do as individuals related to the destruction of the nation. My take on this vanity post is that the author is substituting those two concepts.
You can have a personal relationship with God in slavery, but you cannot serve God if a bureaucrat owns all of your property and therefore owns YOU.
