Don't anyone tell Marco Rubio, John McCain or Jeff Flake that nearly 80 percent of Hindus voted for Obama, or who knows what they'll come up with.
I understand the interest of business lobbies in getting cheap, unskilled labor through amnesty, but why do Republican officeholders want to create up to 20 million more Democratic voters, especially if it involves flouting the law? Are the campaign donations from the soulless rich more important than actual voters?
Without citing any evidence, the Rubio Republicans simply assert that granting 12 million to 20 million illegal aliens amnesty will make Hispanics warm to the GOP. Yes, that's worked like a charm since Reagan signed an amnesty bill in 1986!
True, Romney lost the Hispanic vote, but so did John McCain, the original Rubio. (McCain lost Hispanics by 67 percent compared to 71 percent who voted against Romney.)
President George H.W. Bush created "diversity visas," massively increased legal immigration and eliminated the English requirement on the naturalization test. In the 1992 election, he won 25 percent of the Hispanic vote -- less than what Romney got.
Although Hispanic politicians, spokesmen and TV networks benefit from Rubio's mass legalization scheme, there's no evidence that Hispanic voters care very much about it.
Amnesty never shows up in polls as a top concern of Hispanics. It's a top concern of employers, not workers -- which isn't going to do much to help Republicans shed that "Party of the Rich" image. After Reagan signed an amnesty bill in 1986, unemployment among Hispanics skyrocketed when, suddenly, there was increased competition for low-skill jobs. That's precisely why businesses want amnesty, not because of their deep concern for the plight of the underclass.
How's this for an idea: Why don't Republicans remind Hispanic voters that the more low-skilled immigrants who are admitted, the lower their wages will be? That at least has the virtue of being untried.
MORE at the source...Ann Coulter website http://www.anncoulter.com/columns/2013-02-20.html
Ann seems to have zigged back to the right now that Romney and Christie both face-planted last fall. Curious to see where she goes from here.
Same as Anne Coulter, I voted for and supported Romney-Ryan. No way was I going to sit it out due to Romney being too liberal. Not when Obama is a communist-socialist-Muslim agenda supporter
pass that immigration bill and in 2014 get ready for a huge democrat victory in the house....and it won’t be because of hispanic voters
Young Hispanics are far less christian right than we think. 2012 showed this.
I think that is a symptom of most 2nd generation kids who become more interested in assimilating into a new culture than their parents, who were more concerned about maintaining the old ways. But I also thing this can equalize once this generation has kids of their own and realize there’s a lot to be said for the “old ways”. Time will tell.
I understand the interest of business lobbies in getting cheap, unskilled labor through amnesty.
It appears to be me that the reason the ruling elites insist on "comprehensive" immigration reform (i.e. strong border enforcement, mandatory employment status checks, blanket amnesty, etc.) is precisely to cause political gridlock and thereby maintain relatively open borders, employer deniability, limited legalization, etc. There are now whole business sectors that require an unlimited pool of illegal (and therefore easily exploitable) workers. Thus neither political party is interested in putting a stop to the current situation regardless of what the ordinary taxpayers want.
I think Eisenhower almost hit the mark with “beware of the military-industrial complex”. It’s closer to beware of the marriage of big government and big business. Eisenhower knew the threat mexico presented to the US, which is why he was the last President to really crack down on illegal immigration from mexico. He saw them for what they really are, a socialist-fascist country looking to exploit their neighbors to the north.
Brilliant.
“Young Hispanics are far less christian right than we think.”
Christian right? They are all socialists. If there was a free market in Mexico they would have found work there. But no, they keep electing socialists and when the sh1t hits the fan they just move across the border. The libs in California do the same thing.
Otherwise, there's really no pressing need to make illegals into citizens. We could continue exploiting their labor - they're pretty willing to work without citizenship.
Granting amnestying for about almost 10 % of the US. population? Think about that for a second...
Yes. We’ve lost our minds and common sense. This is called desperation. Obama will take create for it and addthat many more to the Democratic voting base when he gets them to change the 22nd amendment and remove the qualification to have to be a U.S. citizen born on U.S. soil and make it retroactive then pull out his real Kenyan birth certificate and wave it in our faces...

Yes. We’ve lost our minds and common sense. This is called desperation. (I created this video-let me know if you like it)
That makes little to no sense when you consider that, politically, Obama and Romney are similar enough to be clones.
Both are for abortions.
Both are for gun-control.
Both are statists.
Both have records of appointing truly terrible activist judges.
Both support a state-run socialist-dream medical/health-care scheme.
Both are socialists, and here is the only real difference, Obama is more a hard-line revolutionary-style in rhetoric* while Romney is a Fabian-style socialist wanting to ease into it.
* his actions show a more progressive mindset than rhetoric alone would indicate: constantly pushing against the boundaries but not jumping really far outside them.
They are to the consultants who run the Party.
Proving that the constitutionalists who were so ruthlessly dismissed as crazies and "Birthers" were right all along would destroy the Republican party. A win-win for Obama.
When is the treatment of American citizens in Mexico and their rights vs US treatment of Mexicans going to be an issue when we discuss amnesty ? That question; Should Mexican citizens when in the US be given the same rights American citizens are given while in Mexico has yet to appear on any US legislator’s questionaire from either chamber. What makes it necessary for US to subjugate our sovereignty because of available cheap labor ?
Ever hear of reciprocal aggrements ? These are arranged to protect the rights of American citizens working or living in other countries.
Why is it when it comes to citizens of other countries we are required to offer them the same privledges as we do to US citizens? But when it comes to US citizens who get in trouble or attempt to do business in other countries they do not get the same treatment their citizens get.
Americans cant own coast land in Mexico. And get no title to it elsewhere. If they run out of cash theyll get unceremoniously sent back or put in jail untill some relative comes up with the fresh. Thats just for starters as for granting them voting privledges yea lets give Mexican citizens that right when American citizens vote in their elections .
Once all these illegal workers become legal, will they be fired and a whole new crop of illegals have to come in to replace them?
