'The Afghan president has ordered US special forces to leave Wardak province within two weeks over allegations of disappearances and torture.
The measures were being taken due to the actions of Afghans considered to be part of US special forces, said a spokesman for Hamid Karzai.
The strategically significant, central province of Wardak has been the recent focus of counter-insurgency operations.
A US spokesman said it took all allegations of misconduct seriously.'

One cant expect to change two and a half millennia of culture in a few years, no matter how much money, bullets, or blood is poured into the problem. The best outcome we should expect is that they think long and hard about the punishment theyd receive if they support anything or anyone meaning us harm.

Read your post that I commented on, it was stupid and childish, the kind of thing an unthinking teen boy might blurt out in frustration.

Don't insults fall under some logical fallicy category? If you have some opposing veiwpoint, spit it out.
Or, am I to understand you find no application of the lessons of one of Socrates' star pupils, or more recently, Skinner, to the Afghan debacle?
Besides, how do you know I'm not a teenager?

We should take a page from Zenophon the Athenian on withdrawl R.O.E.s. Lay such a path of destruction in our wake that a thousand, no two thousand years from now, Afghan mothers will terrorize their recalcetrant children with the admonition, ""Behave, or I'll turn you over to the Americans." Do that and we patriotic, America loving Americans would have to take up arms against any Hitler figure who tried to turn us into that. It is childish, or much, much, worse, for people to get frustrated and start saying such silly things as you desire for us.

I agree. War cannot be won by winning hearts and minds, it is won by breaking the enemy's will to fight.
Warriors know this, politicians do not, it is a just a game to them.
May explain why the US troop suicide rate has exceeded combat deaths

Much like bleeding the Soviet Union globally, and blocking their goals and strategic gains.
Reagan was correct in fighting the Soviet Union, and not supporting them military.

you could have served communism then and still can, but it is too late for you to fight to preserve the Soviet Union. You completely miss my point. By covertly assisting the Soviets and NOT helping the mujahedin in the 1980s, we could've forestalled the rise of radical islam in that area. As for "serving communism," did allying with Stalin in WWII do the same?
I'm talking strategy here -- playing one enemy against another -- not cozying up to a system that is anathema to our own. Open your eyes and see we're in this sh*t neck deep with the mohammedans over there as a result of our past actions, in case you haven't noticed.

I’m not missing your point, you wanted Reagan to join with the Soviet Union in fulfilling their goals in Afghanistan instead of working to defeat the Soviet Union.
I never thought that I would see such ignorance of the deadly war against Stalin and the Soviet Union and international Communism that America and the free world fought for almost a half century.
Reagan joining with the empire building Soviet war machine? No thanks.

And just how DID that policy of helping the muj in Afghanistan work out for us, anyway???

And I'll you ask again... were we aiding Stalin's vision for world conquest when we allied with him vs. the Axis in WWII?

It worked out great, the Soviet Union is dead and gone, 100s of millions freed, the world not living under the threat of instant annihilation.
Sorry that you didn’t attain your goals for the Soviet Union in the middle East and Afghanistan, as far as your seeming love for Stalin, if you served during the Cold War, then you should have realized what created it.

Sorry that you didnt attain your goals for the Soviet Union in the middle East and Afghanistan, as far as your seeming love for Stalin... So a strategy of encouraging warfare between two enemies equates to a love for Stalin. Got it. (((sigh))).

Pull our people out and carpet nuke the entire country. They’re all moslems anyway, that makes them the enemy.
