Great piece but its far worse than you claim. Here a link to a piece I read at AT earlier this morning.I lambasted the author for not coming up with some solutions as easily as he does hopeless, hapless defeat for our side.
Here’s a sample of his take on the electorate:
So Republicans and conservatives, I’d say the same thing to you that I’d say to a Rabbi rejected by the Hitler Youth: if you think that the Democrats heard, digested and rejected your arguments in the last election, you’re deluded. Your brand is so soiled that you will not be heard by this generation...short of a calamity on the order of the one that befell the Nazis. Your misreading of the times and the situation is startling. You look like bewildered youngsters trying to please a psychotic mother, looking for cues in an electorate and media that derides and, in many cases, despises you. In terms of convincing the electorate of the good sense of your positions, there may not be workable solutions: but take a first step by facing the truth: you have allowed the culture to drift for decades, and one feature of the drift is the acceptability of determined mindlessness...including the mindless rejection of you and whatever it is that you proclaim. You still have a substantial choir to whom you preach...but probably a larger counter-choir that not only doesn’t hear you but aggressively covers its ears when you speak.
Thanks RG, she is writing the same thing I wrote only longer. The first step is realizing you have a problem and what it is. The next step is to realize what we are doing isn’t working and then find new ways around the Three Pillars or cause an earthquake.
I believe my group has found a way and have written a manual explaining the way.

My way or the highway ism. This one is tricky. Like trying to train a dog to come to you, by slapping him every time he gets close.
Complete arguments get boiled down to shorts bursts of words, designed to get between the time brackets which the media controls, and then get dismissed outright, their true definition being "translated" by the same media that just loves us.
Also, the "bringing a knife to a gun fight" syndrome when debating, or being presented, with the opposition, at a given public forum or in the media. We look for fighters to back in elections, but get only sheep from which to pick.
