I hate to see the military bear the brunt of these cuts, but even deeper cuts are needed, and the last thing we need is amnesty and Obamacare.

...horrendous sequester cuts would mean that our carrier groups would have to stay in port because we would be unable to afford the cost of fuel and food to send them to the Persian Gulf. Yeah, we all know that sailors don't eat when they are in port.

Here is what is going on, leftists know that 80 Billion is nothing in a multi trillion dollar budget. But if they can get the Republicans to cave in on ONLY 80 Billion then NO spending cuts are ever, can ever, going to happen. I think Obastard and Co. are going in for the kill. Their fear is if the 80 Billion cuts happen and there is little or no pain(which we all know there wont be) they will look like the lying fools that they are. Obastard is playing a high stakes game of poker and placed a big bet.
O'bastard has gone from the chess board to the poker table and the stakes are high indeed. If the Republicans cave then even the primary conservative idea of smaller government has been shown to be a false premise which renders the entire Republican Party obsolete and half the nation completely powerless politically, yes the stakes are high indeed.

If the sequester happens, Obama will manage it to cause as much pain and disruption possible. If he can arrange for a little death and destruction as well, he will. The Republicans need to get out front of all of this and scream that the decisions to close airports, put the sick on the street, reduce the food supply through cutting USDA inspectors, etc. are all choices made by Obama, not required by a 2% reduction in program increases.

The Department of Transportation also got credit for a cut when it canceled projects that had never existed in the first place, and Congress got credit for not spending money to build the already-built Capitol Visitors Center. That is something you can waste your breath trying to tell a liberal who gets his / her news from the likes of bryan williams. Also, don't try to tell them that a budget growing by at a rate of 1.5% is more money being spent than if the same budget grows at a rate of 3% and not a cut.

Never mind that these cuts amount to just 2 cents on every dollar and never mind that the cuts aren't even cuts.

How can there be any real cuts. Everyone acknowledges that we need to cut the "entitlement" programs like Medicare, Social Security and Medicaid, but I can't name one politician in either party that has demanded we cut any current benefits in any of these entitlement programs. When we will hear a Congressman or Senator say we should cut current Medicare benefits by 10%, or Social Security checks by 20%, etc. If no one will demand specific cuts, how can anyone expect specific cuts to ever happen? No one is representing the taxpayer.

If we are all expected to survive on 2% less (the recent tax increase), why can’t the government?

American people are finally immune to liberals using these threats and fears.
Obama’s snake oil road show calling for more taxes is in full fail mode,EO’s to ensue.

However, the Presidents definition of cuts relies on creative accounting that would make Bernie Madoff blush. This kind of accounting is awesome and wonderful.
I planned to buy a Lamborghini. Yep, I really did. But then I got to thinking about ways to save money, and decided to buy a PT Cruiser instead. I saved over $400,000 with that one easy step. I can buy a really nice house with all that money I saved!
Never mind little details like the fact that the $400,000 never existed to begin with... our politicians certainly don't concern themselves with nitpicking details like that.
