Union members in Chicago are now intent on carrying guns aboard their buses if members of the civilian public are allowed to do so. And naturally, they want more taxpayer money for their trouble.
The NRA has insisted on concealed-carry laws that would allow the general public to carry guns on public transit; now Amalgamated Transit Union Division 308 President Robert Kelly says such a policy is “outrageous and cannot be allowed.” Chicago Transit Authority President Forrest Claypool agrees, “It would be disastrous to allow passengers to carry concealed weapons on our trains and buses.”
But sensing an opportunity to push for higher pay, Kelly added that if civilians were allowed to carry weapons, CTA employees “should get training and have the same right for protection. We will also need to be paid accordingly since we will have dual jobs as transit workers and police officers.”

Their reasoning is -- we've tried "gun control" for 50+ years and that certainly hasn't worked; time to try something that might work....

Why don’t you explain to us, how everybody knowing that a preoccupied bus driver, is armed, is going to stop a thug.
Now let me get this straight.
The Obama Labor Force wants guns to do potential battle with The Obama Gangbang Force in Chicago.

civillians and union thugs both carry now, they think it doesn’t happen now?
I'd jokingly posted a few weeks back that the best way to solve Chicago's CRIME problem (not "gun" problem) was to simply do the following:
-Evacuate all kids under 15 years of age from two neighborhoods: Gresham and Austin
-Wall off Gresham and Austin overnight. Let no one in or out.
- Drop a bunch of guns and ammo into Gresham and Austin
- Wait two weeks for all the freaks, idiots, Obama Supporters and Gang Bangers to kill each other off
- After two weeks, send in the military to arrest any survivors in Gresham and Austin for murder
- Once convicted, throw them all in jail for life.
Seems to me the crime problem in Chicago might be solved by a simple clean-up of the two neighborhoods where the overwhelming majority of all murders and gun related crimes are committed.
Please show examples from your 40 years where people OCing are targeted. I look for such stories on a regular basis and can never find any.

How many clowns on FR read my original post and thought I was bashing open carry?
My point was that if everyone knows the bus driver is packing’, given his preoccupation with driving, he’s going to make a better target than a protector.
Get over it!
Open carry may be swell in Cripple Creek Colorado, but in downtown Denver, it just gets you SWATted.
