The extent to which GOP lawmakers are ridiculed by the MSM for trying to get to the bottom of Benghazi is unbelievable. If you missed Sen. McCain on Meet the Press today with David Gregory, its well worth watching now.
After explaining to Gregory that there are still a number of unanswered questions regarding Benghazi, McCain concludes by saying there s been a massive cover-up. Gregory is confused: A massive cover-up of what?
The crux of the interview, however, came when McCain asked Gregory whether he even cared that four Americans died (transcript via NewsBusters):
JOHN MCCAIN: I'm asking you, do you care-- I-- I'm-- I'm asking you, do you care whether four Americans died? Or do you-- the reasons for that? And-- and shouldn't pe-- people be held accountable for the fact that four Americans died--
DAVID GREGORY: Well, what you said was the cover-up--
(OVERTALK)
DAVID GREGORY: A cover-up of what?
JOHN MCCAIN: Of the information-- concerning the deaths of four brave Americans. The information has not been forthcoming. You can obviously believe that it has. I know that it hasn't. And I'll be glad to send you a list of the questions that have not been answered, including what did the president do and who did he talk to the night of the attack on Benghazi?
And why was it? Why was it that we-- that the f-- the people who were evacuated from the-- from the consulate the next day were not interviewed the next day. And then they would've known that it was not a spontaneous demonstration. Why did the president for two weeks, for two weeks during the heat of the campaign continue to say he didn't know whether it was a terrorist attack or not?
Is it because it interfered with the line of Al Qaeda has decimated? And everything's fine in that-- in that part of the world? Maybe. We don't know. But we need the answers. Then we'll reach conclusions. But we have not received the answers. And that's a fact.
But hey, what difference at this point does it make, right?

Transcripts are interesting. Does no one see how INCOHERENT John McCain is? What is his line of thought? Where is his sentence construction - start, middle, finish all in one go? It is almost impossible to divine what he wants to say. And he is not unique in this matter. Europeans can do it even if English is not their first language, why cannot Americans? Am I the only person to see this or should I not ask?

john mccain wants to talk without saying anything. The only way he can do that is to keep talking without saying anything.

mccain is unique, well maybe he isn’t unique. He mumbles and stumbles around sometimes asking lindsey gramnesty ... who am I and what am I doing here. We take it all in stride, on this side of the pond, and wait for his true wisdom to come bursting forth. We have been waiting for a long time. It’s his rants of take me to the hanoi hilton we become worried about.

"0bama turned his back on 41 State Dept. and CIA employees refusing to issue a CBA command and went to bed so he could go to Las Vegas the next day.">>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Thats EXACTLY it. And why no cross border authorization? Joe Brennan was running an arms for "no oil" secret operation out of the White House, Libyan arms put straight into the hands of the mujahadeen and Al Qaeda. The deal went sour , they could not pull it off , so Obama went to bed, and let them die. These are the political lights of a Stalin, Hitler or Ceaușescu. This is impeachment material. Thats why it is being covered up so tightly. Congress needs to subpoena the Bengazi survivors, who Obama wishes were also dead. We do not even know their names after months of asking questions. We might also try to hear from the Mujahadeen with whom Obama and Brennan were dealing. The Mossad also likely know what happened, and thats likely why Obama is going to Israel, to organize to keep them quiet. Nethanyahu has Obama by the short hairs.

My three lingering questions:
1) Mr. President, Panetta says that you made no phone calls on 9/11/12, yet we know that you talked to Netanyahu, so is it that you just made no phone calls to anyone in your administration during a 3AM real-life attack?
2) Mr. President, please release your ENTIRE timeline from 9/11/12 to 9/12/12.
3) Mr. President, who are the SURVIVORS of the attack, where are they and why haven't they been allowed to be on TV?

Yes, McCain is good here. But this is a good example why the GOP doesnt fight. The dims make everything a partisan conflict all way down to Rubios water bottle.
It would be non stop daily verbal combat for the GOP. They get beltway fever and just do not have the stomach to take on the MSM + Dims. Those cocktail party invites seem more important than the future of the country unfortunately. You're right. The media buried Benghazi and quite successfully too.
This thread is filled with comments against McCain, when in fact, without the lamestream, serious investigations into Benghazi are not going to the White House where they rightfully belong, because the low info public are clueless.
But for, talk radio, Fox News, C-SPAN broadcasting hearings and Free Republic, Benghazi is a dead issue.

I think he wishes that all 41 had died not just four. Last Sat. Jeanine Pirro ended her show with an appeal for “anyone who knows or has any information about the rescued personnel please contact us.” It is quite telling that not one of those 37 people has surfaced on their own. Must be big threats against them if they do.
