It’s better to mix in a little cool water.
Three passes through the still corn liquor (XXX)is so powerful it is anhydrous and just pulls the water out of your tongue.. not a pleasant feeling. Strength ain’t everything.

Perhaps, but the added value of high octane hooch is that it allows the consumer to add water to suit his or her personal taste. For me, one drop added to freshly poured The Balvenie scotch is just right.
