New York Jets quarterback Tim Tebow is scheduled to speak at a megachurch in Dallas whose pastor has spoken out against Muslims, Jews, Mormons and members of the LGBT community.
Tebow is listed as a special guest at one of the First Baptist Church's morning services on April 28, according to its website.
The church is led by Evangelical pastor Robert Jeffress, who has previously denounced non-Christian religions such as Islam, Judaism and Mormonism.
Leading up to the most recent presidential election, Jeffress warned parishioners that re-electing President Barack Obama would "lead to the rise of the Antichrist," according to The Christian Post.
While denouncing the repeal of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell," Jeffress also declared that 70 percent of the gay population has AIDS, and referred to it as "a gay disease," according to ThinkProgress.org.
Tebow has made no secret of the fact that he's a devout Christian, but has shied away from taking a stance on controversial social issues.

Virtually all of Judaism is messianic in that it anticipates the moshiach, or the "annointed one" who, in the line of David, will establish in Jerusalem, the religious focus of the world of both for Jews and gentiles (Isaiah 2:2-4; 11:10; 42:1) with no expectation however, that this person will be in any way more "divine" than anyone else.
That concept has meaning integral to Judaism itself, as the "Chosen People".
Whereas I think its in Galations where Paul admonishes his readers that there is neither gentile nor Jew, male nor female - at least in his conceptualization - but they are all one in the lord, Jesus. The term, "Christian" in Acts is first used in Antioch, probably ~80AD, and from thenceforth has been broadly used to ascribe subscription to Jesus dinity.
The meaning of words matters. At least to me.
How can a person change their race? Could a black man who is pro-confederacy become no longer black?
As a "devout Christian", one's stance on "controversial social issues" would be implicit. A devout Christian cannot stand in opposition to God's Word.
By declaring oneself to be a Messianic Jew, one is saying that they still honor their Judaism as well as the Christ who completes it. You shouldn't feel slighted in that. It is a huge deal for any Jew to accept Christ as Lord and Savior, because to do so, it usually means that they become ostracized and disowned by their entire families. I don't see your average Gentile having to put up with that.
Have you ever heard of Tay-Sachs disease?
‘Jewish’ is not a race just like Islam is not a race.
Judaism and Christianity are two separate religions that cannot be combined. You are either Jewish or you are a Christian. It’s indisputable.
How much knowledge of Judaism do you have? I’m not being sarcastic. I am curious because a true Jew knows the reasons why they cannot accept Jesus as the messiah or their savior and remain Jewish.
The reasons are abundant.
"Jewish" is still not a race.
You mention "Tay-Sachs". Let me ask you this, does the fact that the F.L.D.S. church has an extremely high amount of fumarase deficiency, an enzyme irregularity that causes severe mental retardation, mean that the Fundamentalist Latter Day Saints, is a "race"?
F.L.D.S. is not a race and neither is "Jewish", no matter what you think.
French Canadians (Which is also not a "race") of southeastern Quebec have a carrier frequency similar to that seen in Ashkenazi Jews
Cajuns of southern Louisiana (Also not a "race") carry the same mutation that is seen most commonly in Ashkenazi Jews. HEXA mutations are rare and are most seen in genetically isolated populations.
"Jewish" is not a race", Just tell yourself, "Hey, I learned something today" and get over it.
So Hitler was only trying to eliminate the practioners of Judahism, not Jews as a race? If the ‘jews’ would have simply renounced rabbinic Judahism than wouldn’t have been killed?
Yeah, I learned something today.
I learned what you are.
Lot of whaT? j/k good catch-
[[Man, your cell phone spell checker needs some work]]
My spell checker was deported back to Mexico I’m afraid
Jeffress and Tebow are well known to be very pro-Israel; how can they be anti-semetic?
Not Job, Lot!
>> “Then you should call yourself a Christian, not a Jew.” <<
.
“Christianity” is simply the completion of the Hebrew promise. Yeshua fulfilled, and renewed the covenant, so he is still a Jew.
Right on!
Unless you are a Karaite, it is you that have abandoned Torah.
>> “ with no expectation however, that this person will be in any way more “divine” than anyone else.” <<
Definitely not so. - Isaiah said that he would be Immanuel (God with us).
Yeshua is the sole purpose of all Hebrew worship. He is the Lamb of YHVH that takes the sin of the world.
I’m not a Karaite.I’m not even Jewish. I am a Noahide.
I will explain more about the Noahide faith if you would like. Most people have not heard of the Noahide faith.
In short,Noahides accept the Torah as the only word of G-d,Just like the Jews.
I have not abandoned Torah at all. But any Jew who accepts Jesus as his or her Lord and savior has.
Nope,nope and nope.
Christianity IS NOT a completion of Judaism.
I implore you to learn about Judaism before making such an absurd claim.
Where did you learn this blatant lie?
Read Torah, and you will be made free of the lies of the Pharisees.
Their “oral Torah” is the lie.
