My girlfriend who was a college graduate,used to take me to the food bank whether I wanted to go or not.....just to get free food.Also tried applying for food stamps when she was taking courses,the sad thing is she really believed she needed a more nutritious diet.
It is almost like this is satire of some ghoulish sort. If this is true, then little Miss Sarah and her effing leech husband need to recognize. Recognize they are leeching off people no more solvent than themselves who didn't pay Eight Hundred Dollars for a frigging bike or A THOUSAND DOLLARs for disused 'sports gear'.....YES! She needs to be ashamed of what she's doing - DAMNED ASHAMED! Miss Sarah, even though you don't recognize, there are still some people in this country that would rather die than do what you've been doing....eat canned dog food and sacked potatos. Use actual flour, 10lb bags of rice, powdered milk, eggs, bulk everything rather than to have the time you apparently have to use your 'journalist' education to moan about the 'stigma' having to go out in public and use that SNAP card. You deserve to be humiliated, both you and your effing lazy husband.

Why in the world would anyone buy organic cucumbers at $2.25 each? This woman should have learned to cook “from scratch,” as we did on the farm....and yes, we had time to plant, water and can the harvest of our vegetables. Perhaps this unemployed journalist should budget her time better. When there are no more EBT cards, what will her generation do?

It burns me too that people who NEVER in a million years would have burned through money on friviouls stuff just because they had it are now paying for people who did.

I now plenty of people like this who spent, spent, spent and never saved a dime. Lived the high life (which is their perogative, don’t get me wrong) but who now feel entitled that that lifestyle continue.
By your explanation about behaving differently over the span of a decade, you aren’t excusing her behavior, are you?
Have you considered that this behavior may well have driven and her husband to where they are now? And, it certainly does not excuse her and her husband from leeching off hard-working tax paying citizens.
Realistically, this country CANNOT survive this. It cannot survive half its people leeching off the other half. Incentive, innovation and entrepreneuralism will most assuredly diminish, and when the government realizes its real plan to take the retirement wealth of the workers and exchange it for a pittance chit on social security, it will all end ———BADLY....
All you need do is go up a few posts to see the pictures of what will happen when those EBT cards check out at the register with a big fat ERROR because there aren’t any funds.

My next entire check is up for collateral on a bet that neither her, nor her lazy effing husband ever considered delivering pizzas, babysitting or working for minimum wage to stay off WELFARE....stigma? Yeah! It ought to be cruel, nasty and overt....they should be ashamed. Pompous ill-educated assholes if you ask me.
Maybe I am old and foolish, and cling to a faith that the modern world has determined is irrelevant, but every day I thank God for all the blessings he has given me.

If tomorrow I cannot afford to buy a small roast and can only afford a couple of potatoes, then I will be ever thankful for those potatoes ... and if someone with a greater need than I needs a potato, they will get one.

When the food runs out, the crony, criminal politicians in Washington DC and other big lib cities will be spending all their resources and manpower trying to protect their own worthless hides from their useful idiot voters. The question they’ve never thought through is this: Will that manpower obey orders from a bunch of greedy slimeballs or head home to protect their own families?
It won’t be patriots chasing them from buildings and stealing their stuff.
It is strange that the more students that graduate, the less they know about life, science, art, biology, history, physics, the economy,,,etc..........
They believe the CRAP they are taught and consequently all they end up with is a head full of the same. They just don’t know how to survive in the real world, nor do they have the humility to take a job just to survive.
They mostly feel that they are owed a higher standard of living but reality is not in their vocabulary.
